Q: How do you see the airline industry objections to the rollout of 5G by companies like Verizon affecting VZ's stock? Also, how is it possible to invest what sounds like so far billions to just now get to this potential non-starter? Why wasn't this 5g conflict with aircraft uncovered by the telcos in early days? Thank you.

Q: I'm in the process of rebuilding my portfolio for 2022. It would be helpful if you could share with me a list of both Canadian and American companies that meet the following criteria:
1. They are some of your favourite companies from a fundamental perspective
2. They are currently buying back their own shares.
3. They offer a decent dividend.
4. They run businesses that offer good growth prospects for next year.
5. They currently offer good value.
6. These companies are so solid they would classify as 'core ' holdings.
At least six companies in each list would be appreciated.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude for the support and ideas you have shared this past year. Definitely one of the best advisory services available to Canadians,

Q: I have a position in T I have been holding for years for the dividend which was cut with more cuts on the horizon.
I plan to sell and replace with Verizon. I am thinking T will drop further in December due to tax loss harvesting. With this in mind is it better to sell it now or wait until the new year.

Q: Hi
I am looking for 5 US Income producing stocks to provide US funds to travel with. This will be long term investments, looking for low to moderate risk, good income stream and somewhat diversified although that's not a huge criterion.
Thank you, Len

Q: Good evening team,
I understand this answer may have been asked but I'm unable to locate your answer. If one was concerned about inflation what would be your sectors of choice to invest in? Additionally, can you kindly mention 5 stocks in both CDN and the US that may potentially help guard against inflation?

Cheers
Seamus

Q: It seems to me that going forward inflation worries are real. Assuming my thesis is correct, I have read that one way for investors to protect their portfolios is to buy companies with "pricing power". What exactly is pricing power and can you give me a list of Canadian and American companies that currently have the most pricing power.

Q: I have about $100K to invest in the US stock market to bring my portfolio closer to my intended US weighting, and I am looking for some US stock/ETF ideas.

My portfolio is already 25% Technology, and 16.5% Financials. So I don't need suggestions from those sectors. I was considering more VFV, but that has 25% Technology in it already, so maybe an ETF to complement that.

Can you suggest some US stocks that are not in the Technology or Financial sector that you would consider for a US style model portfolio. And also some ETFs holding US stocks that are light in Technology and Financials.

Thanks,
Paul

Q: Hi 5i,

Thanks for your great service over the last two years. I’m very happy with how I’m doing based on your insights.

My portfolio analytics suggest I am underweight in consumer cyclicals and consumer defensive.

Please recommend your top 3 US buys in each area.

Also, please suggest your top 3 US buys right now regardless of sector.

Q: In comparing the 2 which do you prefer and why?
Verizon has a higher, ROIC , cheaper forward P/E , and lower P/S but quite a bit higher PEG ratio. Interest coverage is also higher 7.6 compared to BCE at 4.41 x
Forecasted annual earnings growth 1-3 years for Verizon 1.6% compared to BCE at 7.2%
Thanks !

Q: Hi team,
I bought Verizon two years ago in expectation of a stable price and a good dividend. Two years later it is down 11% eating up the dividend and leaving me essentially where I started. Would it make sense to sell VZ and use the funds to buy IBM which has a similar dividend and perhaps some growth potential? I can also claim the tax loss on Verizon.
