Q: Hi 5i:
These 2 are in my TFSA, AQN is down 15% and ATZ 27%, each are 1.5% of TFSA.
I am thinking it is time to move on. My reason is that I think it will take too long for these to "come back"
I know that this will be a loss I cannot claim.
What do you think? Any suggested replacements?
Thanks for all your work and analysis.

Q: I know it's not exactly apples to apples, but would you view a swap from AQN to CNQ is a likely net positive 1/5/10 years out? This is for the 'stable' part of my portfolio - some growth but dividends and overall steadiness. Could also consider ENB or FTS (already own BIP). . Thanks in advance. - Jeff
Q: High volume trading on Feb 29th, 45M shares traded hands, I couldn't find anything in INK research, any Sites you visit that know what caused the spike?

Q: I have 7000$ to allocate into my TFSA which of these companies would be your favourite and which would be your least favourite, please rate them out of 10(1 meaning least favourite and 10 being most favourite). Lastly at what entry price would you be a buyer of these companies? Please indicate an entry price for each company.
Thanks guys

Q: Hi, follow up the on the previous question about AQN and their dividend versus Cashflow and earnings: The dividend is $0.44 per share but the Free Cashflow per share is -$0.35. Doesn't that mean that if they killed the dividend the company would have free cash per share of $0.09 and therefore be adding cash per quarter instead of losing cash?
Am I reading this wrong? AQN seems to be reducing the financial capacity of the company to pay the dividend. Wouldn't a more appropriate practice be to pay the dividend out of free cash?

Q: Please give me the dividend payout ratio based on Non-GAAP earning per share, operating cash flow per share and free cash flow per share. Thanks.
Q: This has been a long term hold in as RRIP account with a DRIP, The book cost is close to the current market value. Enjoyed the dividends over the years. Is it time to move on. Look forward to your answer.
Q: Dear 5i,
in your opinion are there any better canadian listed stocks than; CPX and AQN that one can invest in for the long term? If not, which one of the two would you prefer? This pick would likely be held in a RRSP.

Q: In your opinion, is it worth holding on to AQN for the potential benefits of it's renewable business sale/split (and whatever other news follows), or sell now and invest in to companies with more proven management and stability e.g. I'd be putting the proceeds mainly in to BNS and TD.

Q: I need to gradually raise cash over the next 6 months and am operating on the assumption that interest rates will begin a to decline in late Q1, I would only like to sell those holdings that are less likely to do well in a declining interest rate environment. Please rank each of these holdings from "Sell Now - least likely to benefit from a declining rate environment" to "Avoid Selling - should do very well in a declining rate environment". Q: I held AQN in two separate accounts for over a year, I sold AQN in the account that had the largest position (80%) and I've hung on to AQN in the other account.
I thought of replacing AQN with NPI to maintain my sector exposure, I've yet to make that purchase.....why???? I've been side tracked with the idea of buying BEP.... Can you folks please wade in, would appreciate some of your thoughts and rationale.
Happy Holidays to the staff and readers

- Emera Incorporated (EMA)

Q: Hello Peter,
I am thinking of increasing my weight to 5 percent for Fortis. I understand that the company has been stable for long time with increasing dividends, but is it possible that it could run into headwinds as Algonquin did? I am wondering if i should stick to 3 percent and put the other 2 percent in hydro one and Emera.. Thanks very much

Q: I own the companies in question in an unregistered investment account. To offset some capital gains I was thinking of divesting myself of some of these investments. Please rate them in order of disposition in your opinion. I am a retired investor who believes in companies with a history of dividends. Additionally, can you suggest 3 potential investment replacements, thanks.
Q: Your opinion on headwater?? I also own Supremex that I am up nicely and could move that or move on from AQN.
Thx

Q: What probability would you put on another dividend cut for AQN?
