Q: Hi guys,
Two questions so please deduct the appropriate credits:
1 - Is the energy sector now purely a trade going forward? Are the days or steady production growth gone given how volatile the price of energy can be? It seems like there are ample opportunities for trades, but buy and hold, unless its a pipelines seems to be finished for now at least. Agree or Disagree?
2 - Looking to add some consumer discretionary to my portfolio for a recovery. Deciding between QSR and ATZ. I like the size of QSR and the dividend, but ATZ has lots of growth potential in the U.S. and Internationally and my wife likes their clothes!! ;) If you had to choose one, which would it be?
Thank you,
Jason

Q: Hi all,
For AC.TO and SU.TO, they are just like brother increased more than 5% today. I have brought those two stocks half years ago and finally now back to profit. I want to thank you fro your advise and actually no need to wait for 3 years :)
Which one will benefit more after COVID? Do you think keep holding now, since both hitting the high price for 3-6 months. After the COVID, how long will last for those two in benefit the raise? 1-2 years? Usually, I have difficult to sell the stocks in high price, do you think they are good for long term holding for 5-10 years? What is the possible in short term one year target price? Kindly advise.

Q: Good day,
I hold BEP.UN;BEPC;BBU;CCL.B;ENB;EMA;H;FTS;CTC; and BAM in a non registered account and thanks to you I have done very well following your Q & A and portfolios. I am down 43% in SU; down 23% in CPD; down 16% in IPL and 6% in POW. Would you add to the winners? Add to the temporary losers or ADD new ones. After today, am tempted to add to SU for sure. Have RRIF and TFSA with pretty balanced sectors. Overall, Overweight in Utilities, Financials and okay with that. Many thanks, Paul

Q: I have no oil/gas stocks and would like to add one. Which of these (or other) would you recommend and please indicate why. For a 67 year old with an otherwise balanced portfolio. Thanks again for your experience and sound advise.

Q: Hi Guys,
I'm starting to get interested in the energy sector for more of a long term hold. The sector has been crushed but I don't believe the world is going to abandon oil and gas any time soon. Looking for a producer that pays a dividend, so I can get a return while I wait. What companies would you guys suggest?

Q: Is it time to cut my losses and bail on this one? To put it differently, in your professional opinion, what are the chances this stock ever hits $30/share again?
Q: energy stocks have been struggling for many reasons and many years is there some type of catalyst that might turn things around or is this just hopeful thinking?
Q: I want to take a tax loss on SU. But I want to stay in the market. What do you think of using IMO as a proxy to replace SU? Or just wait 30 days?
Q: Greetings 5i team,
This question is regarding tax loss selling. I have a major loss on su.to in my Margin account. I want to keep the stock for the long run. My question is is it possible to file tax loss without selling or should i sell and buy back. If so how soon can i buy back?
Thank you
Ravi.

Q: I hold some big loss holdings, such as those above, in registered accounts. Even though there is no opportunity to claim tax losses, would it make sense to consider selling them, at least until the new year, to avoid further losses resulting from tax loss season?
Thanks for your insights
Thanks for your insights
Q: Good AM I wonder if there is any data / anecdotal background that 5D can provide surrounding tax loss selling? Is there a period, late Nov, early Dec in which the predominate amount of selling has occurred?
I bought SU a month ago and have kicked myself since for not factoring in tax loss selling season.

- Badger Infrastructure Solutions Ltd. (BDGI)

Q: I do not own these 8 companies from the balanced portfolio and I do have some money to invest. I already have a reasonably well balanced portfolio (except overweight in tech). Dividends are nice but not that important. Is there one you would consider a particularly interesting buy with a timeline of 5 years? Could you rank the top3?
- Suncor Energy Inc. (SU)
- Enbridge Inc. (ENB)
- TC Energy Corporation (TRP)
- Pembina Pipeline Corporation (PPL)
Q: ENB. SU,TRP and PPL are my current energy holdings and I am down on all four. I have held for a long time and I am concerned energy is not coming back quickly. What would you suggest.? Reduce in all, cut 1 or 2 , if so which would you suggest I sell. As usual your input is respected.
Q: I currently hold Suncor, and am down 50% in a registered account. Sit and wait, and sell and move on. If move on, what would be 3 choices for conservative balanced growth.
thanks
thanks
Q: You mentioned tax loss selling could hurt Suncor this year - J am not familiar with that concept - when does this typically occur?
Thank you
Thank you
Q: Would a Biden presidency create a more difficult environment for pipeline development? If so, which companies would be most affected?
