Q: Why do pipelines often weaken when the price of crude falls based upon high available supply ? Are their tolls tied to the price of crude ? I always thought the income was based upon the volume of oil moved vs the price of crude. Thank you.

Q: For a leveraged account could you suggest 1 or 2 additional Canadian dividend stocks to add.
With the ROC distribution on VEQT is it best to re invest in more shares of the ETF with the funds or does it need to be transferred back against the loan to keep it fully tax deductible.

Thank you!

Q: Similarly to the question asked by David regarding your Income portfolio, for B-E portfolio, what would be your top 10 stocks in the order you would buy. Based on anticipated total return (dividends + stock price increase) for the next five years expectations. I would also appreciate if you could add to these stocks your return expectations and risk ratios on the scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being highest. Thanks.

Q: Hi Peter and Team,

This is a political/economics question. What are the chances of the new pipeline being built? As I understand, no company has expressed real interest yet. I also read that Enbridge has excess capacity, and that they're willing to utilize it.

In any event, is there anyone who, in the short term, will benefit from this uncertainty?

Thanks as always for your insight.

Q: Good afternoon Troops. 65y/o retiree looking to reduce my holdings and consolidate into an easier to manage portfolio. I have chosen six ETFs to give me some international and US exposure, some using covered calls for income. For the Canadian side of my portfolio I have chosen these ten stocks that would be my core holdings going forward. Can you please comment on this strategy and if these stocks are suitable for my situation. Cheers.

Q: I am looking at fixed income potential across sectors as a low risk offset to my equities and would appreciate your recommendations. It doesn’t look like the space has good future prospects overall with rates having just dropped.
Of notable options, high interest saving accounts, bond funds, utilities, dividend index’s and perhaps reits, the reits and dividend indexes have superior yields.
Could you please comment on the space overall, which sectors are advisable and possible suggestions for purchase please?

Q: The way things look right now, it is difficult to see how energy and materials (mining) won’t play a major role in keeping Canada afloat. It seems we have things the world needs/wants if we can get over our distaste for being prosperous. I’m wondering if you can suggest some “pick and shovel” plays in the space generally?

Q: The above stocks make up 80.4% of my holdings. Goog and BN @7% each. The next 5 @ 4% each and the rest at or close to 3% each. For a 10 year horizon, with risk/reward in mind, where would you invest if you had 10% of the portfolio in dry powder- new cash. Any you would sell? Note, I have been trimming CLS, VRT and NBIS to control AI exposure.

Thanks again for all the insights - love the service you provide.
