Q: My daughter's portfolio consists of the above stocks (CSU, ENB ,IFC, ISRG, SIS, SHOP, WSP, ZSP). She likes to hold good stocks for along time. She Is comfortable with moderate risk and has a long runway for investment. She has money to invest and would like to add stocks which would improve the balance of her portfolio. Could you suggest a few stocks to help her achieve her goal. She is not adverse to owning 1 or 2 higher risk growth stocks. Thank you for your help.

Q: BN is sitting at 7.5%, AXON - BKNG are 5% and the rest are 3% positions totaling approx. 83% of my stock assets. Not looking for a person allocation but rather if it was you, what might you be looking to adjust, if anything. Note I have no utilities currently. Thanks and have a great weekend.

Q: Hi 5i
Given recent response to Dons question regarding todays SP drops in ENB and PPL in response to the Key deal announcement...

Where would you expect ENB and PPL to head to from here and would you consider this an opportunity to increase holdings in either one? Your preference if you have one?

What about outlook now for KEY considering stocks positive move on the news?

thx

Q: I notice that both ENB and EMA have high payout ratios. ENB seems to be about 138% on Dividendhistory.org and EMA around 98%.
Is this possible? What does it say about the safety of the dividend or do utilities use a different calculation when it comes to Dividend payouts?
Thank you
Frank

Q: Hi 5i
These are held primarily for dividends and (expectations of) some growth. Would you keep both for their different growth drivers and dividends or lean towards ENB being larger/safer at this time?
Thanks

Q: Hello all,

I am helping aid my young adult children in developing a portfolio of strong companies that pay a dividend. They were not comfortable buying during the VIX 30-50 range so they have not benefited from the recent rebound.

They are looking at holding any of these positions for 5 years (when they may need to liquidate a bit for a down payment on a property)

Please note, the American equities would be CDRs and hedged.

Here are my questions:

What entry point/range would you be comfortable buying any of these securities listed?

Do you recommend half positions in any of them at this time? Please list.

Taking into account the time frame, are there any companies you would recommend not buying?

Are there any sectors (with a particular security) which perhaps I should consider that is not on my list?

Please mention if there are other securities that might be better in satisfying the stated objective.

Do you forsee any problems with this approach and do you recommend something else to help offset anything?

I know that you don't have a crystal ball but your opinion is appreciated.

Please take as many credits as required.

Respectfully,
Arturo

Q: Hi Team,
Looking at Pembina's recent weakness, is it fair to say that currently it would be a better "buy" today compared to Enb which is riding near highs in terms of potential long term growth? When I look at valuation I am seeing a P/E of 16.85 for PPL and 23.25 for ENB. Also, I am wondering if PPl valuation stays low, if it will be a takeout candidate for ENB some day? Market cap of PPl is only 30 billion compared to 137B for ENB. PPL has some valuable assets, including LNG plant currently under construction. Dividends are fairly similar with enb slightly higher at the moment. Thoughts?

Shane.

Q: Currently I have an overweight position in energy, with full positions in CNQ, SU, TOU, ENB and half positions in TRP and WCP. Does it make sense to sell TRP at this time and take a full position in PPL? Does it make sense to hold both CNQ and SU or is there a significant correlation between the two, if so, which would you keep?
