Q: Do you have a sense of the liability potential for EIX with regard to California wildfires? EIX share price has recovered significantly from Jun of last year and I am within 1.5% of breakeven. What would you recommend to the 'income investors' in the group? Buy, sell, hold? If "sell", what would you replace it with?

Q: I have held South Bow since its' early days, so have collected the nice dividend for almost 1.5 years, and also have some modest capital gains. It is basically a one-trick pony and seems bit weak lately and may be facing some perceived problems in the US. I am considering selling it and replacing it with Enbridge. Some questions:
1) do you see any problems with SOBO in general, and in particular with respect to Venezuela/US administration?
2) what is the payout percentage for both SOBO and ENB
3) what is the status of Enbridge line 5, what is the percentage of their product and revenue relating to line 5, and what will they do if Gov. Whitmer eventually wins to close it?
4) if it was you - continue to hold SOBO or make the switch?

Note this is held in an RSP, so there are no tax implications from a sale.

Thank-you

Q: Hello, I have these 3 pipeline cos plus BIPC and I would like to reduce these to 2 stocks (should be sufficient to cover the sector) among ENB, PPL and KEY. I want to keep BIPC. Which ones should I keep and why? I have held these 3 stocks for over 20 years and plan to hold 2 of these for at least another 5 years, possibly 10. Thanks

Q: Can you please provide your analysis of whether AI software developments will negatively impact the businesses of OTEX and ENGH? Both companies seem solid, reasonably well-managed, and pay nice dividends to compensate for their low growth. Should I be concerned that their revenues will decline over time such that my retirement income will be in jeopardy? Should I move on to a more stable dividend payer, for example FTS, that is less likely to be hurt by AI?

Q: Could you please share your recommendations regarding my energy sector investments? I feel like I have too many and some may be overlapping. Additionally, could you suggest a few investments inside this sector that are currently not being covered?

I aim for a balanced approach with a mix of growth and income, intending to hold these investments for more than two years.

Thank you,

Q: Good afternoon,

I feel that I have constructed a well balanced equity portfolio of between 20-25 stocks, thanks in large part to you and your team.

I have identified the following as core positions, where each one represents between a 3-5% weighting:

RY
GWL
ENB
FTS
AEM
BN
NVDA
GOOG
AMZN

I know that there could be many additions to this list. But assuming I hold my "top picks" to these names, do you have any immediate concerns?

Thanks as always.

Q: what would your top 5 dividend stock in North America?

Q: First, thank you for all your posted and individual guidance in 2025. It is very useful and comforting.

Fuel prices at the pump are now quite low and the Venezuela takeover has shocked the sector.

I am wondering about these 3 oil related stocks which have all dropped today. Do you see the sector going downhill and if so, what are the reasons, and whether or not a reversal of those same issues would lead to an increase in sector performance. Or is there any other new information on these stocks which could lead them to continue to slide.

Many thanks and Happy 2026 to your entire team at 5i.

Q: I own the BMO Equal Weight Canadian Oil and Gas Index ETF (ZEO) as well as some Canadian Natural Resources (CNQ), Tourmaline Oil (TOU), and Enbridge (ENB). All have done well. But oil prices are expected to fall in 2026 due to excess supply. Plus, with the US takeover of Venezuela, my understanding is that demand for Canadian oil could drop. Could you please rate each as a sell or hold? I hold ZEO in my TFSA if that make a difference. Would you swap any for a US oil company and/or a US Oil and Gas ETF? Thank you.

Q: Hello Peter,
Your opinion please.

With US going to 'run' Venezuelan heavy oil, what is the market reaction and impact to WCS, the producers and the pipelines that move Alberta oil to the USA? Is it time to go underweight on the energy sector for this year?
Regards
Rajiv

Q: Why do pipelines often weaken when the price of crude falls based upon high available supply ? Are their tolls tied to the price of crude ? I always thought the income was based upon the volume of oil moved vs the price of crude. Thank you.

Q: For a leveraged account could you suggest 1 or 2 additional Canadian dividend stocks to add.
With the ROC distribution on VEQT is it best to re invest in more shares of the ETF with the funds or does it need to be transferred back against the loan to keep it fully tax deductible.

Thank you!
