Q: I have $10k to invest and I want to buy some stocks (Canadian or CDR) that are underpriced.

I was thinking to invest in TRI, MDA, TFII, TVK and GSY. Maybe Amzn.

For a 3 year hold, how would you rank these stocks? Any other suggestions.

A follow up to Willie’s question about a potential USD devaluation on Sept 03.

We have 50% of our RRSP and TFSA in USD. Investments outside of the US and Canada are in CDN though those investments are minimal. In the past, the suggested path was to own US stocks with US funds over using CDN dollars to purchase US stocks or purchasing CDR’s. Moving forward, is it prudent to slightly reduce USD exposure by having a combination of CDR’s and US stocks for US investments (i.e. 10k in MSFT CDR’s + 10k of MSFT in USD)?

We had purchased USD about 8 years ago with a plan to vacation in the US upon retirement though we decided to vacation elsewhere now with CDN dollars. A currency cost would apply to sell 10% of USD though we do not have costs to buy or sell. This change would only be applied to the largest positions (NVDA, GOOG, META, MSFT, BRK.B, WMT.)

Q: I'd like to either start a 4% position in TRI or bring the other 4 positions up closer to 5%. Also I could just start a smaller position in TRI and bring the others up a bit, distributing funds across the names. If you could rank order these names, it might help me decide. As is, now MSFT and AMZN are quite small positions. Would any be affected by Tariffs? Just not sure how bullish you are on TRI vs the others. Thank you very much for continued great investment analysis.

Q: We're taking some profits from my wife's position in TVK, and I'm looking to establish a new position for her.

For what might qualify as tech/AI, she has DSG, AMZN.ca and Goog.ca. On the AI theme, I'm considering Avgo.ne (I'm overweight Nvidia), ASML.ne or AMD.to. She also lacks in Communications and tech generally, so I'm also thinking NFLX.ne. and Uber.ne.

This is intended to be a long-term holding with growth in mind, so can you rank the five companies -- AVGO, ASML, AMD, NFLX and UBER in order of preference please in terms of long-term growth.

And thank you for your service over the last decade-plus, because retirement certainly wouldn't be in sight without 5I's help.

Q: In a TFSA I have a small position in Celestica (0.75% of my overall portfolio), a “smallish” position in Shopify (1.5%), and a more sizeable position in Amazon (4.5%). I am trying to decide whether to free up some funds by selling some Amazon, to add to Celestica and Shopify (perhaps 2% each), whether to just let things ride, or perhaps sell Celestica and add to Shopify. The portfolio is fairly well diversified and the objective is growth. If you were me, what would you do? Many thanks for your excellent service.

Q: Am thinking of selling either AMZN or BRK-B (both with a small loss) in exchange for AXON. In what order of preference would you put these for best long term growth?

Most of the MAG7's charts show a "Death Cross" pattern. Please rank which would be the most attractive to purchase for a 5+ year hold. Your answer can also include other companies that have exhibited this pattern. Looking for big caps, mostly US. Thx.

Q: I have the above stocks all at significant $$ losses in my trading account. I don't need to sell any, but am wondering if I should sell and switch to other similar stocks to lock in capital losses. Do you have an opinion on which you'd sell tomorrow - and a proxy for an equivalent or better replacement. And which ones you would keep due to their unique positioning in the current market? I don't really want to sell and wait 30 days to rebuy the same stock.

Q: I would like to narrow this list down to the best 10 to hold in a long term taxable portfolio. What would you suggest be the top 10 stocks? I currently hold all of them but would like to sell this down to 10. I like holding 10 stocks with about 10% in each as a risk/reward balance. Q: Hi group the above stocks i sold 1/2 of my folio about 3 months ago/ yes at a tidy profit. My question is I am 75 years old and have $100,000 to reinvest (20% of my total portfolio)...(dry power) i do not need any cash to supplement my income for at least 5 years unless the market falls of a cliff because of Trump/Tariffs. I would say I am a sleep at night investor So the question is what to do now wait or start nibbling now. These stocks make up about 70% of the total portfolio

Q: Hi there. Can you comment what the impact of GOOG, MFST and AMZN and their creation of their own Quantum chips is on companies like RGTI and IONQ? Are RGTI and IONQ trying to do the same things as the bigger companies but from a weaker position or are they complimentary or poised to benefit from innovations of these larger companies? Obviously RGTI trying to beat GOOG at R&D if they are racing the same race seems like a long shot.

Q: Please rank these stock for risk relative to US Tariffs from High to Low.....yes, wonder how defensive these US stocks are......Many thanks.....Tom
