Q: hi,
I am looking at adding these to my dividend equities. I like growth with the dividend stocks, both in capital appreciation and dividend payout ( to keep up with inflation, over the long term ). how do these 2 stack up? further, is there an open source website to check CDN dividend equites in regards to the dividend growth, payout ratios, etc...

Q: Hi 5i Team,

I am looking to create a dividend portfolio of 15 positions yielding around 6%. My plan is to weigh these positions equally in a non-registered account. A good number of these equities are in your income portfolio but I just wanted to get your opinion if you would swap any of these out or add anything else?

Q: You recently Initiated a position in Acadian Timber (ADN). You state It pays slightly more than its annual free cash flows in the form of dividends.
1] Why do you think this is good to pay more than its annual free cash flow in the form of dividends?
2] How does the company make a profit after paying dividends?

Q: This is my selection of stocks for steady revenue (and secondarily potential growth) .Since a serious economic crisis is not excluded in my opinion ,I now plan to : 1) only keep Cies at low risk to become out of business and that should maintain dividends, based on their history and financial strength , and to : 2) sell the other stocks to buy ETF instead..

Wich stocks can be "relatively safely" kept at long term for this purpose ?

Thanks for the response to my earlier question regarding which of the income stocks you would hold in a TFSA. Can you comment on my first statement regarding the illiquidity of the stock and how that would cause someone with a significant investment to be challenged in acquiring as much as what the daily volume has been? I have never thought of myself as a MM and I prefer not to be. Thanks.

Q: Hi,

Recently you added ADN to the Income portfolio. In order to incorporate the 2% position that you use, it will mean a substantial purchase. After review, it seems that ADN does not trade in significant volumes to allow a reasonable market price. That said, how does ADN maintain the dividend when its free cash flow is exceeded by the dividend payout on a consistent basis? Am I missing something?

Q: Can you provide a 'buy' list for a person wanting to deploy $200,000 (inside RRSP) with the goal of creating 5% or more sustained cash flow - as well as growing the original capital to keep up with inflatiion? We do not have company pensions - this would serve to supplement our government pensions.
Thinking, 20 stocks across all sectors @ $10,000 each (or 5%)
Also could you include 10 growth stocks (inside TFSA) for a total of $250,000 - gotta have some fun ;)

Q: Ignoring company size and sector diversification, can you please rank these stocks on a best to worst risk / reward basis for long term hold. I own them all in various accounts with a half position or less so my plan would be to let some go and increase position in others with better potential.
