Q: I noticed that WFT reported good results today. Would this be a good time to invest in a Canadian lumber company? Which companies do you like and why?
Q: Could I get your opinion on ADN - I am looking at a small position to be held mainly for the dividend with some hope of small capital gains. Can you tell me what their payout percentage is, insider ownership, potential impact by US lumber talks, and is it a take-over candidate (I think I've heard this somewhere)?
Thank-you

Q: Friaday all these canadian lumber companies' stock prices jumped up.... but there seems to be NO news to support this... Is there some reson for it : seasonality, or insider information, or some trade news that brokers dont give but that some are privileged to. I am interested in these stocks but would like to know 2 things: how to get advance information IF that is what is driving prices up and how would you rank these companies in term of growth potential, safety, and best overall gains for the next 6 months or longer.. also what factors should one assess to fortell the success of gains in these companie
- West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. (WFT)
- Interfor Corporation (IFP)
- Western Forest Products Inc. (WEF)
- Acadian Timber Corp. (ADN)

Q: What is your view of Acadian Timber? They initiated a strategic review in February, and the price has come off a bit. Would you consider it a buy?
Q: I've been reading lately about Canada trying to negotiate a lumber deal before October. Would it be wise to limit forestry company exposure until this gets sorted out? I've been looking at WFT and ADN.
Thanks,
Paul
