Q: Please list around 5 TECH stocks that you like in US or CAD that are not 'expensive' when compared to the high fliers with little to no earnings. Please exclude the FB, GOOG, APPL, AMZN, NVDA and MSFT.

Q: I'm in the process of rebuilding my portfolio for 2022. It would be helpful if you could share with me a list of both Canadian and American companies that meet the following criteria:
1. They are some of your favourite companies from a fundamental perspective
2. They are currently buying back their own shares.
3. They offer a decent dividend.
4. They run businesses that offer good growth prospects for next year.
5. They currently offer good value.
6. These companies are so solid they would classify as 'core ' holdings.
At least six companies in each list would be appreciated.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude for the support and ideas you have shared this past year. Definitely one of the best advisory services available to Canadians,

Q: At what % of a total portfolio would you feel it is reasonable to let these two stocks run to before starting to pare back ? A range for low-med-high risk would be useful.
Also, any opinion on what you see in the year ahead for them ?
Many Thanks.

Q: Hi Team, We hold CNR and BIP.UN in our TFSA accounts and would like to free up space for other holdings from our non-registered account. We hold AMZN, BAM'A, CSU, GOOG, and QCOM in a non-registered account. If we switch out CNR and BIP.UN before Dec. 31 will we be able to transfer in some of the non-registered holdings in 2022? If so, in which order would you rank the non-registered holdings to take advantage of the TFSA account?
Would it be better to replace BIP.UN with BIPC in the non-registered account?
Thanks

Q: Given the recent run up in certain semi conductor and chip stocks, would it be prudent to use an ETF such as SMH to better diversify risk right now if only one position available in a portfolio? Or, going the individual stock route, how would you rank the following in a moderate risk portfolio QCom, AVGO, TXN, NVID, AMD, SWKS, INTC?

Q: hello 5i:
We recently sold U: 50% gain and a bit too high valuation for us. To quote Peter: we would reduce very expensive growth stock exposure. Current tech holdings are CSU, PANW, AVGO, OTEX, TOI and DND; the latter 2 being about 1% positions. We would like to replace U with something "less" exciting and are considering TCS, APPS and QCOM as you seem to favour these stocks (like others, I read the questions/answers daily). TCS is very appealing as it looks to have a moat within the health care sector, but we also own VEEV and WELL. Is there too much overlap here? APPS is a volatile trader and not really in our wheelhouse, but is of interest. Can you make a suggestion as to how you'd replace U?
thanks

Q: I currently own MSFT and NVDA in my technology group. I would like to add one position as a 5% weight in my technology holdings. What large cap stock would you add to compliment MSFT and NVDA as a long term hold.
I already own AMZN and GOOGL under communication sector. Best, Don

Q: Why did QCOM dropped more than 4%, whereas NASDAQ dropped only 1.66% on Wednesday? The stock has been upgraded on Tuesday. Is it because of profit taking or investors don't believe its performance? I thought that it was less risky than AMZN, GOOG, etc. Is it still a buy?

Q: Good Morning Peter & Team,

On November 3rd subscriber Peter' asked;

"Top USD stocks for dividend income please."

Your answer offered a number of suggestions all of which indeed generate good dividends but offer minimal (for the most part) in the way of capital gains.

Can you please tell me how your answer might have been different if the question had asked for;

"Top USD stocks for dividend income which have the potential for good growth/capital gains moving forward please."

Thanks for all you do

Q: Is there a reason why TSM has been flat while other semi's like NVDA, AMD, AVGO have been on fire. I wanted to buy NVDA but missed the recent move higher and looking for another semi that will catch up to these other names. Is TSM a good candidate? Thanks!

Q: I am holding a small position in TSM that is currently at a 2% loss. The share price has been trading sideways for some time. I also own SMH which has TSM as one it's top holdings. I am inclined to sell TSM and use the money for something else. I plan to keep holding SMH which has made good gains for me. Both are in the same taxable margin account. Should I keep holding TSM for the longer term, or should I let it go? I am also holding MRVL, AMD, QCOM and NVDA for the long term.
