Q: I read with interest your recent response about high risk stocks for conservative investors. Me, becoming more a conservative investor (as I enter my 80's but still like growth....hahahaha). With that in mind would you consider the following stocks high risk - LSPD, MX, JWEL, and in the US, MITK, PINS, PYPL, SQ, DLTR, DOCU....Thanks for your take.........Tom

Q: I’m significantly underwater on these stocks. Can you please advise which ones you’d hold, and which ones you’d sell? Can you please also give 5 growth stocks in Canada and 5 in the US that you are high on right now in place of the above?

Q: Hi there, I have EDGE and curious about XEXP. I know you don't normally go for new / low AUM ETFs but could you provide some analysis on whether you might make the switch from EDGE to the new Blackrock fund? I think hoping to get your thoughts as follows (charge multiple questions if warranted):

1. please compare the two products ignoring the differences in track record / AUM

2. If an investor likes XEXP better from a product design perspective, when might you be comfortable moving in (6 months and 100m AUM? less, more?)

Thanks!

Q: I have small positions in the above noted companies held in my TFSA. They are all underwater and so there is no tax advantage to selling these losers. I would like to sell some or all of them and either to one or more of them or move on to some small techs that have more prospects. Can you let me know which of these you would sell hold or add to. Thanks for your ongoing great advise.

Q: Hi there, I am down considerably on the above stocks. Can you please advise which stocks have the greatest chance to recover in the next few years? Most are over 70% down and should I sell some to reinvest in better operating companies such as GOOG and AMZN. thank you for your time.

Q: I'm looking at your answer to Shane's Jan 5 question about your caveats on recovery of stocks. Do you see any of the stocks listed here whose recovery may be limited and if so, which ones and based on which caveats? Thank you.

Q: Was happy to see DOCU's small rebound and the relatively positive report you gave them in your answer to a previous question.

My question is whether they really have a moat with their product or whether it can be reproduced by a bigger player like Microsoft.

Your answer will help to decide whether it's better to sell during this rebound or hope for a return to the heights it once enjoyed.

Q: Hi! Doing some cleaning up and wondering if these are buy, sell, or hold. In reference to Shane's comments I also agree that it wasn't too long ago that so many advisors were recommending growth stocks at lofty prices. Having always been a more of a value investor I dipped my toes, but am feeling like I'd be too scared to ever enter any kind of a growth stock again. I know if interest rates peak you feel these can do well again but only time will tell and many investors have lost lots of money on the high growth names like in Cathy Wood's funds. Happy to hold any of these names if there could ever be a turn around. Thank you!

Q: Hi,
In your recent blog on 5 investing principles, you say it is important to distinguish between permanent and temporary market losses. However, you do not say how to do that. DOCU, PTON and NFLX all did great in the pandemic. All are floundering now. So, do you view the market losses in DOCU, PTON and NFLX as permanent or temporary and why?
Thanks.
