Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Good morning;

I own the 4 stocks referenced at a 4.5% weight in my portfolio. ILMN was purchased as a turnaround candidate so I wish to keep it. XLV to hedge. UNH I have my initial investment out; it has bounced around quite a bit lately with no clear path but a target +/$75 above current price. May 1st you commented CVS is not one you would add to and it could be a value trap. I've owned it since prior to COVID and missed my opportunity to sell it off.

I want to stay exposed and grow my exposure a bit to the US (and maybe Canadian) health care sector. Other than a very occasional flare of positive results this sector has not been very beneficial to my portfolio other than a bit of modest income. I could part with (in order) CVS, UNH, XLV to build better growth exposure. I would appreciate your top 5 recommended options along with why you would put them on the list.

Thanks very much.

Dave

Q: I am currently in the negative on T, AMZN, TTD, TCN, NVEI, CPRX, ATZ, ENGH, LSPD, ABNB, WELL, BEP.UN, ROKU, ILMN, SE, PINS, and ZM. I have a 10+ year outlook, however would like to know based on the company and growth potential, what would you Sell or Hold? And if a Hold, please advise your perspective. Thanks!!

Q: You had a few comments about this this stock in the past month; one suggesting it being a buyable option below $152.

RBC Capital Markets has a $336 USD Target price and it sits on their Top 30 Global Ideas list. Morningstar rating is 5 with a Fair Value est. of $269. Currently seems to be a Hold among analysts. You have already some comments on recent corporate performance.

There is some noise of legal class action, yet not sure how significant this would be or whether it creates a drag on the stock. Add to the mix a new CEO.

I'd be very interested in your take on this stock given the above and its' meltdown with the market. Thanks, as always, for your insights.

Q: I would like to increase my exposure to US large cap healthcare, currently own PFE and ISRG. Can you recommend another company that would be complementary to these holdings or would you simply add to the existing positions? Also own some smaller names in this sector e.g. WELL but am interested in increasing the large cap exposure. Thank you.

Q: Hi 5i,
What are your current thoughts on continuing to hold onto ILMN given the current situation with Grail and activist investor involvement?

If I were to sell what would you recommend in the U.S. Healthcare Sector?
I currently own ABBV, IHI, TMO and WELL.

Thank you!!

Q: Since the healthcare sector in Canada is quite limited, I would like to explore the option of purchasing 100% US healthcare stocks to better represent this sector. I would greatly appreciate it if you could suggest six stocks that I should consider. Thank you in advance.
