Q: I am considering selling U (down 24% in my TFSA) and replacing it with one of the following: WELL, NVEI, DOCU, MED, or APPS. Please rank in order of preference if purchased today. Can I assume all of the above stocks would likely have higher rates of growth than U and that the sale of U would thus be justified?

Thank you.

Q: I'm really overweight in IT. Close to 35% but I need to get down to 20% or less. IT holdings are: KXS (3.1%); SHOP (16.9%); CSU (5.2%); TOI (0.4%); DND (0.2%); LSPD (2.0%); SYZ (1.4%); PHO (1.0%); CRWD (2%); NVDA (0.7%); DOCU (1.5%).

Not sure if it makes a difference but all are in TFSA except KXS, CRWD and DOCU (cash/margin account). Due to the fact that I'm working I don't want to trigger any taxable gains if possible. Obviously I need to trim SHOP by at least 1/2.

SYZ seems to be a laggard since it has only appreciated 45% in almost 7 years so I think I should sell that. Do you agree? (assuming a balanced portfolio).

Aren't DND and PHO going to be purchased?

I'm emotionally attached to the high gains otherwise... What's your suggestion on how to bring down my IT holdings in a tax efficient way?

Q: Hi,
If you had to pick, regardless of sector, the next top 5 Canadian and 5 U.S growth stocks with the highest potential return for the next decade, what would they be? I’m lucky to have return 4500% on SHOP and hunting for the next SHOP now. Thanks!

Q: I have small holdings (1 1/2% to 2 1/2% of APTV (+24%)&TSLA(+12.6%) in my TFSA and DOCU(+18.6%), IDRV(+7.77%) & NVDA(+47.29%) in my cash ac over 7 month hold. Looking at adding some more USD and wondering if I should be adding to some of these or buying others. This would be a 3-5 year hold.
Take as many credits as you see fit.
PS: Thanks to you I am up 235% on shopify! Thanks for all you do.

Q: Hello 5i, a report from RBC came out this morning with their ''need to have'' tech companies. Their Outperform ratings were on COUR, DBX, DCT, DOCU, JCOM, PEGA, TWLO and PEGA. Are you familiar with those companies and could you please mention your (2) favourites of the list and why? I own DOCU and TWLO already. If your preference is the same, it'll be a relief. If they aren't, I would open a new position since I have room for another one in terms of my allocation. Much appreciated, thank you.

Q: Can you comment on their earnings report yesterday? Did you listen to the call and if so was there anything of interest (good or bad) that came up?

I know weightings are personal, but if you were holding DOCU what kind of weighting would you be looking at.

Thanks so much for the fantastic service and recommendation of DOCU at the beginning of the pandemic!

Q: I have more tech equities than I want going forward. Please help me strike one or two off my list by ranking these in order of potential growth over the long term /min 5 years. For fun (since it probably won't affect my decision), please also rank from least volatility to most volatility. Thank you very much!

Q: Hi,

I would like to trim down my tech holdings in my portfolio. How would you rank these overall in terms of long term growth considering valuation, size, risk, etc... I would like to reduce the holdings, add to TOI and balance out other sectors that are low such as energy and materials. Do you see any overlap in these holdings? Which could you see go here or consolidate? Thanks!

SHOP 5.25%, KXS 3.46%, LSPD 4.64%, CSU 3.06% , DOCU 1.01%, NVEI 0.96%, TIXT 1.17%, CRWD 1.41%, AMZN 0.76%, GOOG 1.78%, FB 0.97%

Q: I have similar weightings of MDB, DOCU, PAYC, CRWD, GH, NET, and TWLO in my US RRSP account. As per the recent report recommendation from 5i, I would like to rotate some of my lesser quality stocks into strong value stocks or ETFs. Can you suggest 2 of 3 of the above that you would recommend I reduce or sell out and what strong value plays would make sense to backfill them with? Am I interpreting the guidance of the report correctly? Thanks!!

Q: I wish to de-risk our portfolio. These are some of our holdings with high PEs [although that is not always the most appropriate criteria for risk assessment]. Would appreciate your advice as to top 10
(a) most at risk currently and
(b) great companies, even if currently expensive, that you have most conviction longer term.

Q: I purchased Docusign last year and until very recently it seemed like a great choice. It’s sharp decline that began in late February has been significantly steeper than the tech sell-off in general. The shares are now right about where I paid for them and a hair away from succumbing to the old adage “never let a gain turn into a loss”. The steep sell-off has me worried that it is a precursor to the street expecting disappointing earnings when they report this Thursday. I know what the consensus forecast is, but what does 5i’s crystal ball predict for their upcoming Q4 earnings and the market reaction?

Q: Hey 5i,
Say that you are a “very aggressive growth investor/trader” using a commission-free brokerage and a stop loss strategy to mitigate risk to make sure you are far from the last one out when a downswing/correction/crash happens.

1) What would be your current top 15 highest conviction aggressive picks that you think would appreciate the most in 2021 (USD and CAD), regardless of any other considerations like sector weightings.

2) On businesses that you are most comfortable with (GOOG, AAPL, MSFT) what would be the highest weighting you’d be OK with? The stop loss strategy to mitigate risk applies.

Please deduct the appropriate credits, thanks !

Q: Hi - I recently subscribed to Portfolio Analytics and I was looking at the suggested sector allocations of which I am out of whack. So I need to scale back in Technology - out of the above holdings, could you pls let me know which you would considering selling first? Or if they are all good for the long term (I have 10+ years), I could look at reducing position sizes.
