Q: Hi Iím a long term investor, and currently very heavy on Tech. Iím currently searching for a non tech name for an RRSP for a long term hold. Iím more focused on growth as I have time on my hands. Outside of tech, I hold ATZ, HON, BAM, GSY, SQ, COST. Can you please list your top 10 favourite US companies?

Thanks for everything

Q: Can you please provide a few US and Canadian companies that are not traditional growth or tech companies, but represent deep value at this time. Bonus if they pay a dividend as well.

Q: Hello 5i Research Team,

David Berman's recent article in the Globe suggested that now may be a good time to buy beaten down stocks in the US home building industry (i.e. builders and suppliers). Would you agree? Either way, could you please rank the listed stocks for a 5-year hold for an investor with an above-average level of risk, and add any better names I've missed.

Thanks!

Q: I heard someone on TV, on BNN I think, say that there is currently a severe housing shortage in the U.S. Doing some research I found one analyst stating a shortage of 3.8M units. Whether or not this is considered "severe" for the U.S. I have no idea. In any case many companies in this discretionary sector are down substantially from their highs. Could you provide your thoughts on investing in a home builder at this time? Preferably for a 2 to 3 year hold. Would Toll Brothers have the top ranking or would another builder rate better? Many thanks.

Q: I find myself In a losing position in Paypal for the second time this year, currently down 35%. I had previously taken a loss in it a few months prior.
I was considering writing it off as a loss, once more. I would use the proceeds to add to losing positions in the following: CSV/RCII/CCS.
Is this a sound idea? If you deem it to be, which of the aforementioned holding would you add to currently? Please rank if possible.
Thank you.

Q: hi, just looking for clarification to Ricks's question on Feb 9...re funeral services related.
You mentioned CCS in your answer...but this is a construction company. Did you mean either of SCI or CSV and your answer was a typo for CCS?

Q: CCS-u seemed to have had a correction mid-summer. I received your report on TCN-c and it looks extremely interesting. Am considering a purchase of one or both. Would you have a favourite or would you consider them equals from a point-of-view as investment opportunities? Is the U.S. housing market still booming?

Q: Hi Team,
I am currently reviewing my TFSA and the current holdings within that account. I am looking for your thoughts if any of my holdings should be adjusted or removed/trimmed, or if you had any suggestions for new buys. My focus in this account is growth for a 10yr+ period. I hold the following stocks, listed as a % of my tfsa: LSPD (32.3%), CELH (9%), Docu (5.6%), Fb (19.3%), Pltr (4.9%), SQ (12.2%), TTD (8.9%), U (7.9%). Thanks

Q: I would like to diversify my REIT holdings geographically. I currently hold a reasonable position in CAR.UN and an overweight position in TCN. I would appreciate any recommended REITS with operations in the USA or Europe that are registered in either Canada or the USA. Is there anything like another another Tricon Residential available?
With appreciation for your great service.

Q: Hope you and yours have so far successfully avoiding covid-19.
Our portfolio is below
Cons Discr 5%: US:NIO, US:CELH
Cons Stpl 3.8% - US:COST
Energy 6.2%
Fin Svcs 38% - BNS, GSY, RY, SHOP, SLF, US:BAM, US:JPM, US:MCO, US:V
Health 4.2% - US:MDT
Ind 5.8% - US:RTX, CNR
Real Est 2.7% - US:RDFN
Tech 13.4%
Telcom 5.7%
Util 7.4%
Cash 8%

All the fin svcs are up nicely but V and BAM have only small gains. We like both but think we should reduce this overweight sector and re-balance among the Industrial, Health and Real Estate sectors.
We are down 41% on NIO and down 12% on CELH but we are prepared to wait unless you think their prospects arenít worth the wait.
Weíd appreciate your view on what to sell in fin svcs and what to buy in Ind, Health & Real Est.
Many, many thanks.
