Q: Hi - are you current fans of the US homebuilding stocks (and their macro environment) for next 12-18 months? If so, what stocks do you prefer to buy at current prices (and a brief "why")? Many thanks as always!

Q: Retired investor looking to reduce bank holdings. Currently have ~1/2 positions in TD and BAC and full positions in NA and RY. I would appreciate your input. Could you rank, giving rationale, ATS, CLS, ABT, HST, LEN, for upside potential? Would you recommend starting 1/2 positions (or easing into) any of them at this time? Please take credits as you see fit. Thanks.

Q: Hi 5i:
I've been away for a while and not keeping up with Questions, so this may already have been asked and answered. if so, please provide a link to the answer.
I'm hoping you could advise what sectors you think will reverse the current trend and begin to appreciate in value more quickly than others and, also, if you could identify three or so names you would expect to 'lead the charge' in each of those sectors.
If time and space permit, any commentary you might have regarding each identified sector and/or name would be appreciated. Thanks!
Peter

Q: Can you suggest some US and Canadian high-quality value stocks with attractive valuations and, finally, that meet the "mundane" test. Heard a commentator discuss this recently. I think the idea is that if a high quality business is flashy, etc, its valuation would reflect that (say Coke or Berkshire Hathaway?). Other "mundane" companies would not (yet) have that prominence premium.

I'm not sure if this is the same as "deep value". Your comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

Q: Like a lot of stocks, the homebuilders seemed to reach a bottom on June 17 and then have steadily marched upward. Quite briskly, in fact, even in the face of increasing interest rates. To what do you ascribe their stock improvement, which outmatches almost any other sector I can see, up 25%-30% in a month.

Q: I own a fully position in IWN - with what's been going on lately with sector rotation (Growth verses value) should i see half the position and buy IWO (growth) or sell the entire position in IWN and buy IWM (both growth and value) ?

Second question I own significant holdings in WEF (overweight) WFG (1/2 position) and lastly Canfor (Full Position) My question is is it time to exit hold or reduce as lumber prices cannot stay at the present level forever?? (your comment please) maybe even sell some WEF some and go with a big house builder or even Lowes (I already own Home depot ) your guidance is appreciated

Thank you!

Q: I got LEN as part of the Calatlantic takeover which I did quite well on. But these homebuilder stocks are having trouble getting a bid - even when they beat their estimates. I understand what interest rate hikes do to the affordability of their products but those hikes have been gradual and very well communicated. I know US stocks aren't your bread and butter, but am I missing something? is it more about LEN you think?
