Q: If you had to pick only ten stocks or ETF's to hold forever which would they be?

Q: We are often reminded that one should not try to time the market, and that it is time in the market that counts. But would you be in favour of an investor re-weighting to more defensive positions if one is worried there is a "correction" on the horizon, for example if the Delta variant explodes Covid numbers, there is a gov't policy or interest rate change, an external shock with China, etc, ? If one was going to make that change, can you pls provide 10 names that currently would be more defensive? Thank you for your very excellent service.

Q: Greetings,

I am underweight consumer defensive and consumer cyclical and would need to invest about a $100k in each to get the right balance.

I also need more US and international exposure.

Can you suggest your top two individual names in each category that are listed in the US and Canadian markets?

Lastly, is there an ETF or two I should look at?

Keep up the good work… i am up substantially on TOI based on the guidance received here.

Q: Hi,
I assume that you will deduct question points as you see fit.
I am considering simplifying and 'conservatising' my RRIF.My wife andI are in our mid 70's.
Portfolio Analytical has again shown that my account is unbalanced with inadequate foreign content. I also need to increase my weightings in Consumer (discretional and defensive), Industrial and Technology.

Could you please suggest 5 names for conservative longterm holds in non Canadian Stocks or ETF's in the following categories?
a)consumer defensive
b)consumer discretionary
c)Industrials
d)Technology .

Q: I'm trying to build a diversified portfolio and I'm weak as far as income/value stocks are concerned. It would be helpful if you could provide me with a list of 5 Canadian and 5 American companies that provide some income and have a history of increasing their dividends. I'm not seeking high dividends so much but more interested in companies that pay a dividend but keep steady growth as a goal as well. If you would rank the lists best to worst it would be a bonus. Q: I have similar weightings of MDB, DOCU, PAYC, CRWD, GH, NET, and TWLO in my US RRSP account. As per the recent report recommendation from 5i, I would like to rotate some of my lesser quality stocks into strong value stocks or ETFs. Can you suggest 2 of 3 of the above that you would recommend I reduce or sell out and what strong value plays would make sense to backfill them with? Q: Hi 5i team,
My nephew turned 18 last year and has now 11K in his TFSA ready to invest.
What would be your suggestion (s). It can be a mix of CDN and USD stocks/ETFs.
Obviously, it would be several years before needing any of the money so some risk can be taken.

Q: I currently have full positions in BAM.A, GSY, WMT, VEEV with half positions in CRWD, KXS, TTD, U, and VZ. Are you comfortable with this portfolio? I am contemplating reducing KXS or removing U with ATZ, LMT, AC or MG. I'd appreciate your thoughts on any necessary adjustments to make at this time.
