Q: I am looking for a US etf with long term growth. This in order to balance out the over-weighted Canadian portfolio of blue chip dividend stocks. This investment is long term, no short term plans for this allocation and do not want dividends for tax efficiency. This question applies to both RRSP and non registered accounts. Could you provide me with 3 suggestions please.

Q: Good Afternoon
Can you recommend 3 stocks in Canada and the US that are good momentum plays? Also are there any ETFs that track this that you can recommend?
Thank you

Q: hello 5i:
recent discussion on Factor Investing on your Questions board. this item probably should be in the Blog section (not sure how many use it), so publish if you wish or think it adds value to the ETF discussion. Material is dated, but I have invested a portion of our portfolio in the suggestion, on this article in Seeking Alpha:

thanks and hope this helps someone

Q: Hi

In my RRSP would it be wise to replace VGG, ZDY, and ZWH with ITOT.

Looking for lower fees and growth.

Thank you

Q: Luckily, I went to cash on most of my US holdings in Feb, but kept some VIG, thinking it would survive better than others. That has not really been true and I notice that it does not bounce as much on an up day as one like VIS, which also pays a higher yield. As I start picking away at re-building my US portfolio, what 3 ETF's would you recommend?

Q: 5i Team,

Please provide your guidance on US based ETF's that you believe could be a buy now, and perhaps others that could be placed on a watch list pending a market adjustment or a new developing trend line. Goals would be moderate growth (lean towards safety) with a steady and growing dividend. I currently hold VIG and would want to expand my US based exposure. Position would be held in either a cash or rrsp account. Many thx. Steve.

Q: I should increase both our health care and U.S. investments.I have been looking at the investments above. These would be in our TFSA so not too interested in dividends.
I would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks in advance.

Q: Could I please have a few of your top Smart Beta ETFs recommendations. I was hoping to get a few ETF ideas that cover USA, global and international only. A few that trade on the TSX and in the USA would be great. Thanks

Q: Are there ETF's out there that employ both Active and Passive investing under one roof, or do I have to buy one active and one passive to create my allocation to both strategies ?

Q: Hi 5i,
In Jan 2018, I added mtum to my moms tfsa as her us $ holding. It would represent the most risky part of her holdings in the Tfsa
Since then, I have read that momentum stocks/strategies do not do well in a bear market. Is there any truth to that claim? With a pb over 4 and a pe over 26 should I stay the course, or purchase 2 or 3 value stocks in her account with that us $?. If the latter, any suggestions?
Many thanks,

Q: I have virtually no direct exposure to the US market at the moment and wish to rectify that. My risk tolerance is moderate with a minimum hold of 5+ years.
I am considering adding IWO and MTUM to my RRSP plus 2 or 3 other stocks for diversified exposure. What are your thoughts with this strategy and can you provide a couple stock suggestions, your reasoning behind them, and perhaps how best to allocate the funds?
Thanks for the great service.

Q: I am having a hard time deciding if I should add to my financials with individual stocks or buy an ETF. XLF and MTUM have holdings that I already own and am ok with adding to these via the ETF and they also hold BAC and JPM which I do not own. Can you please give me your opinion. Sectors and weightings are fine. Thank you.
