Q: Hi

We still have 500 shares of GSY in our RRSP accounts

Thinking of selling and buying BAC. Both are beaten up. However I am thinking BAC
has a better chance of recovering in a shorter time frame with less government interference.

Your comments or other suggestions in the US are most welcome.

We already have CROX, BRK.B, CELH, PERI, NIO, INMD, LNTH, IFRA,XYLD, IYW

Thank you

Mike

Q: With bank failures in the forefront these days would you still consider HISA ETF's safe in this environment? Will the issues in the banking sector affect the NAV prices of these ETF's?

Q: Hello Peter,

How would you trade the collapse of SVB? Banks and Financial companies are taking a hit. Is it time to buy? If yes, what would you prefer- BAC,MS, BX? Or none of the above.
Do you think there is a contagion risk here?
Regards.
Rajiv

Q: Good afternoon.

Please provide me with a list of your top - rock solid - US Banks.

Are there any with a yield of 4% or greater that will have dividend and price growth.

Thanks.

Q: Can you rank these banks, best to worst. With a buy sell or hold and an entry price.
How much downside risk is there to the stock price if there is a worse recession than expected? Buy now or wait and see how economy plays out in the next couple of months?

Thanks
Brian

Q: I am a value dividend investor of 77 years, Portfolio analysis says I am over 20% in Financial industry. I hold BAC, BNS, FSZ, JPM, MFC, SLF, TD, X. I am up in all except one and the dividends keep rolling in. I am loath to let any go. If it is needed, please suggest a substitution.

Q: Hi 5i,
Sorry for all the preferred share questions but I'm having problems finding US based fixed rate perpetual and if possible cumulative preferred shares. The ones above are on my buy list can you name three more preferably in other sectors that have high to highest ratings or are unlikely to default. I still have memories of 2008 with the CDOs fiasco so like diversification if possible. Thanks for your service.

Q: Hi 5i happy new year! I believe its time to step into US perpetual preferred shares due to interest rates. I'm having problems finding these and I'm hoping you can help. Quality needs to be high to the highest as this is for my retirement. I am an advocate of diversification so please if you can have a few stable sectors listed, thanks!

Q: Can you supply a few suggestions of dividend stocks that may be good to purchase during tax loss selling? Canadian and US if possible.
A few growth stocks would be a good balance to this question as well! Thanks, James

Q: Hi Peter,

I will soon be receiving my pension funds from my ex-employer to put in my LIRA.
Can you suggest a few stocks with a decent upside....time frame 10-15 years.

Q: Hi 5i
I am a little overweight in financials, about 2% each in above Canadian names and about 1% each in US names.

I am underweight real estate / property.

I would like to sell a financial. Probably MFC which essentially has paid me a nice dividend for a few years but hasn't really had a significant gain. Selling would provide a small capital loss that I could use. Certainly recent market downdraft has been a factor.

Would you agree that MFC is the one to sell?

2nd question is which real estate stock(s) or REITS to replace up to 2% of portfolio or simply go to ETF ZRE which is in the income portfolio.
I prefer individual - your favoured 2 or 3 but would definitely consider this ETF w good yield.

Criteria for buy(s) are (for retiree.)
(a) high yield i.e. 4% or more, mainly to replace income from MFC.
(b) low overall long term risk as compared to other REITs and
(c) low to modest growth.

re Reits buy all now or average in over 3 to 6 months?

Please subtract as many credits as you see fit.
Thank you for always helpful advice.
