Q: I'm interested in researching US financial institutions for new investment ideas. Could you provide me with a shortlist of 4 to 5 US companies (e.g., chartered banks and any other financial institutions) that I might consider. Many thanks.

Q: Why are U.S. banks moving so much higher with interest rates and their spread so low? Do investors believe they are at a bottom? Have JP Morgan and that has performed beautifully. What do you think between Citicorp and Bank of America?
Q: Which is better for growth and dividend growth, BAC or AAPL?
Thank you
Frank
Thank you

Q: Hi Peter and Ryan,
The US banks were approved for their share purchase plan. Do you think it is a good time to buy some US banks? Which one(s) do you think it is more stable and dividend safer than others? Which one has more growth potential? Can you please recommend one or two?
Thank you,
Yiwen

Q: Holding a BAC position in US dollar portfolio that is well balanced, diversified. BAC is held for bank exposure in the Financial Sector. Also hold position in V in this sector. Given current circumstances, like low interest rates and lower growth, I am questioning holding BAC. What is 5iR's take about BAC? Is there an alternative to BAC in the US finance sector or just underweight the finance for the time being?........Tom
Q: I'm thinking of selling my postion in BAC. What would you suggest as a replacement, not just banking, decent dividend yield?
Q: What is your 5 year projection for bank of ,America, Thanks in advance Regards Cliff

Q: I am finding your 'Portfolio Analytics' to be an outstanding service. The imbalances within my portfolios are abundantly clear.
I am overweight financials with
TD - 3.55%
JPM - 5.19%
BAC - 6.77%
GSY - 1.29%
CXI - 0.71%
All stocks show a decent profit except for CXI which is down 23%.
I have fairly high risk tolerance and I look for reasonable growth. I would appreciate your recommendations on how to reduce my financials by approximately 3%

Q: Hi 5i Team,
I hold about 5% in each of these companies, with the rest in indices (XAW, VCN) and cash. Do you have any recommendations for other companies I should be looking at to diversify? Thanks for the help!

Q: I have shares in Bank of America . Is there another US bank that you would prefer over Bank of America.
Q: Hello,
Thank you for your continued wonderful insight. I need some US exposure , preferably not tech. Which do you prefer, long term (15-20 year hold ), or a better suggestion?
Thanks as always, Lee

Q: I hold both these U.S. banks which I bought back when "everybody needed to hold a US bank" which was only several months ago but seems like ancient history. This morning BBT was downgraded from a buy to underperform. Can I get your opinion on whether to continue to hold or take my losses and dump them.
Thanks, Carl
Thanks, Carl
Q: I hold BAC and am underwater about 10%. In the present investing climate do you think there would be more upside potential by switching to AIG? Either now or just into the new year? Thank you.
Q: Good morning 5i,
I believe you have said somewhere that you would prefer the American banks at the current moment. I am wondering if I am remembering correctly and if so, would you stand by that, and again if so, would you buy bac now instead of BNS, all things being equal.
thanks as always

Q: HI 5i,
Concerning American banking system, rumors are that under the Trump governance, some banks have gone back to the same financial strategies as before the financial crisis of 2008. I do have those 3 American bank in my retirement portfolio. Should I get a ride of those and, if the answer is yes, any suggestion for replacement.
Thanks you

Q: I have an a US "balanced" portfolio that holds V (and also BAC) , you suggested in an earlier answer to another person that for diversification, might take a position in SQ. If both V and SQ were held, what weightings would you consider giving V and SQ, and also BAC, like 5, 4, 3 or 2 %, within the Financial sector portion of the portfolio as a whole?.....thanks....Tom

I hold the above companies in the US side of my RSP account and am wondering about holding both JPM and BAC. Would you recommend dropping one of these US banks and if so which one? If yes, what would you replace it with?
Thanks Ken
