Q: Good morning, Which Stocks do you guys believe should benefit the most with the rising cost of living and many people having to turn to cheaper retail and grocery stores for example. Would stores like Costco and Dollarama be a couple of obvious examples, thanks?

Q: I hold KO in an RRSP as a defensive stock as well as collecting the $US dividend. The defensive aspect has taken a hit lately, and I am looking at this as a buy opportunity. I would appreciate it if you could provide your assessment as to why the steady decline in share price of late and your thoughts on adding to this stock.

Q: As a follow up to my question on Target. What would be a replacement for it? I am a dividend investor with some growth stocks. I aleady have NWC, PEP, PBH and PG. Should I just add to NWC as it is low right now with the 4% dividend, add equally to these or is there a particualr peference of another such as KO?

Q: Hi 5i.

Could you give five recommendations for 'hold forever' US stocks? I'm thinking the sort of companies you would never sell, and even pass the shares on through your estate, ideally.

Q: Good morning 5i:
Next year I will be retiring, and currently I have the outlined stocks in my RRSP, I'm happy with all of them, I think I would like to sell some of them (or trim down, slowly -no rush) and buy stocks/etf that will provide resilience , some yield, and perhaps some growth , can you please provide me with some ideas, 3 or more , I was thinking BN, add more to VFV.
Please use as many credits as required.

THANK YOU for all your help.

Q: Hello, I saw that there are seven new CDRs from CIBC: Verizon, McDonald's, Nike, Starbucks, Coca-Cola, United Health, and Cisco. Without going into the CDRs versus buying on American exchanges debate, I am curious to know if some of these stocks are worth buying today, which ones, the reason why and in what order (from most compelling to least)., presumably for a 5-year holding period. Thanks.

Q: Could you explain "goodwill" to me please.

Today on BNN Ross Healy was commenting on NTR and indicating that 60% of it's balance sheet was goodwill. I have googled it and am wondering if part of the answer is the customer base and the related contracts. If goodwill is intangible, then how to you come up with a number?

Is this 60% number something to be concerned about?

Thanks...Steve

I guess and hope not, since it is not a "US LP" .I sold ET to Buy KO+PG instead ,at least no more tax on dividends and more stability ! thanks all for points of vue .

Q: Hello
I own three consumer staples in US market.
In the last year Mondelez has much out-performed Coke and Diageo by a long shot. But If I go to a five year chart they all performed equally well.

Do estimates point to Mondelez out-performing the other two in the next year or two? The reason I ask is I am wondering if I should just hold Mondelez since the Coke and Diageo are not performing well of late.

Long term investment hold, 20 years plus.

Thank you
Stephane
