My TFSA is made up of CSU (33%), TRI (22), VGT (17), DSG (14), GSY (14).
CSU is the core position (thank you for that recommendation) and will not be added to at this time.
With current available cash and the upcoming 2023 contribution which 2 companies out of TRI, VGT, GSY and DSG would you add to for the best growth scenario?
Thanks for all your sage advise over the years. My first 6 years of retirement have been financially successful and the dividend and share growth has been stellar. Again a big thank you to 5i!
Q: Hello , following is my list of losers .. and I am assessing which ones to sell this month for YE capital loss. I appreciate your comments.
As an aside; in watching the huge drop in some of these stocks, one certainly wonders about the wisdom of their CEO's ... as an example META, they are spending billions on Metaverse so that people can work and play and interact in virtual reality .. maybe in the year 2050 !!. and many others that just didn't adopt their businesses to people post Covid returning to work and shop at malls... truly incompetent .. For me, this crash has convinced me to buy shares in companies that are making money and have a strong management team.
Q: Hi 5i, today you replied to Warren's question on DTOL, "and we would be comfortable letting this one go given the comparable attractive buying opportunities right now in the tech space. ".
Please provide 3 to 5 companies that meet the above response, thx.
Q: Hi 51,
Thanks for your thoughtful answer to my question earlier this morning asking which sectors you expect to recover more quickly, and for some names you like in each.
The names you listed in the two sectors you identified (tech and consumer discretionary) were all US companies. Do you see the same sector recovery pattern being followed in Canada, and can you provide some Canadian names in the sectors you like that you would expect to 'lead the charge'? Thanks!
Peter
Q: Taking into consideration current valuations and quality of these companies please rank these companies. Do any in particular look like interesting buys at the moment?
Thank-you.
I have maybe a rare question for you. I have done quite well with my stock selections (much thanks to you for many of the wise choices) and are sitting on a pool of Capitol Gains. Now, my wife and I are entering the phase of our life where we can make some significant "tax-friendly" charitable donations. Always keeping in mind, saving enough for the rest of our days. Our question is: If you had to sell from the list I provided, and thinking of holding the remainder at least another 10 years, which would you chose to sell a portion of ? Perhaps the top 3, in order of choice ? Thanks so much.
Q: I've whittled down my latest TSX "watch list" to the 4 securities listed above. How would you rate them and which would you pick if only one was chosen?
Q: Hi group markets really tough to read right now ? what you 3 top sector's c/w 3 top picks in each / ideal entry price /short blurb on each.
I am particularly interested in Health care as I am presently below target. I just sold LLY because info on Diabetic drug was getting poor reviews that proved to be untrue so not am looking to get back in. so what a good entry point ? Thanks for your help
Q: My son has saved up for a bit and has a decent amount of capital for his age. He has a TFSA but his investments are varied and not the best for a long term portfolio. We recently sat down and planned out a long term portfolio that would less risky for long term holdings. Would you guys change/swap, remove or add any from this portfolio of Canadian Stocks? TD, MG, BAM.A, ENB, SLF, FSV, T, FTS, CNR and TRI. Is the market also in a comfortable position to currently make a large investment of capital? Thanks.
Q: I am considering selling Kinaxis in my TFSA and buying Descartes with the funds (I have significantly larger holdings of both companies in my investment accounts). Would you consider this a good investment decision?
Q: I have the above companies in my TFSA which, due to the tech sell off, are now down to about 1/3 of a full position. I do not require any money from my TFSA for at least 10 years so have a long timeframe. I also own a full position of CSU in my wife’s TFSA which I will continue to hold.
I am thinking of selling one of these positions and distribute the proceeds in the remaining positions.
Could you rank upside potential of these companies?
Or should I just leave it alone and let time be my friend?
Q: Would you have a proxy for ENGH and would you buy it back in 30 days? If not which stock(s) in the same sector would you recommend that is also beaten down but has good upside potential going forward?
Thanks for your service?
Q: Which 5 stocks from your growth portfolio and/or balanced portfolio would you start buying today for a TFSA for a five year hold (for an investor currently not owing any). Thanks.
