Q: I’d like to ask you to speculate on if and when Telus International might initiate a dividend? I’m assuming it is likely to happen one day? I know that you like to see that first dividend established. In your experience would it be unusual before a certain number of years have passed after being listed? Is there some consistent level of profitability required over a given time usually, or any indicators/predictors to go by? Thanks for your insight.
Q: Of the following, are there any you see as particularly vulnerable today? Held in a long-term account but I am considering shifting the risk profile in light of existing market conditions, and potentially closing out 1 or 2 positions:
Q: Hello Peter,
I am thinking of adding to Greenlane Renewables to average down and am considering initiating positions in Ginko Bioworks and Telus International. Please let me know what you think in terms of longer term potential. Much appreciated.
Q: After selling ENGH yesterday, I am reviewing the above holdings and only want to keep stocks that have a potential to generate decent future income, over the next 5 years or may be acquired by another company. These are long-term holdings and I don't need the cash, but could use the tax loss. Don't want to sell any company with a positive future. Any of the above holdings that you would sell now?
Thanks!
Q: Hi there, I am a big fan of your Balanced Equity Portfolio. I like the more growth oriented names in it and was wondering if you were to swap out the less growth names for names that have a little more risk but for higher return, which would you swap and for what names? Thanks!
Q: Taking into account their current valuations, and their individual company risk, could you please rank these stocks in terms of overall risk from high to low for a 2 year time frame:
LSPD SHOP NBLY TOI NVEI WSP CAE TIXT GSY
Q: Based on your reply to Paul on May 9th...."We think buying over a year will end up looking pretty good in two or three years". Of the following Companies that make up my portfolio what would be your TOP 3 conviction names to ADD to over the next year based on long term growth potential, good valuation, well run, good management, no brainer this will be a good investment type choice. There is opportunity here so don't want to miss the boat. Yes everything is down. Yes people are panicking. But it will go back up and simply want to focus my energy on the ones with more conviction. I don't need the money for the next 15-20 yrs but don't want to be a moron either and be happy with a bit of dividend here and there when I could see larger returns by making a good decision today. Thanks again.
Q: What do feel are the best bargains currently in this market ? Top 10 please, and a management ranking, 10 being the best. Long time time horizon. Thanks
Also, please provide your favourite Cnd stock/ETF for an RESP. Long time horizon
Q: With the stock market being just terrible these days, what at the companies trading at or near 52 week lows that you would strongly buy if you could (US or CDN)?
Q: All four of these companies seem to be interest sensitive & are dropping a lot. NWH.UN is still up 15%,TIXT is down 25 %, while IIP.UN is even & DIR.UN is down 18%. Should I sell because of the announced & upcoming interest raises or continue to hold them? They all appear to be good companies but are being swept along by the tide of selling. Thanks
Dave
Q: We have new money to invest and would like to use it to correct our only significant sector weighting imbalance, which is in technology. The sector is currently represented by CSU, DSG, KXS and SHOP, where all but CSU are down.
5i has often stressed the importance of both maintaining target sector weights and not leaving too much cash idle. Now we find ourselves with the technology sector struggling and would like some guidance on how to proceed.
For the existing positions, which are long term holds, would you be inclined to spread out the additional investments over the medium term, say the next 6-12 months, or would you tend to be more aggressive, investing in the shorter term?
How would you rate (1-10) CSU, DSG, KXS and SHOP for additional money today?
If we were to initiate long term positions in TOI, TIXT, NVEI and LSPD today, how would you rate them?
Once again, a big thanks to you all at 5i! We've just renewed our membership after a first year. We only wish we'd known of your service earlier!
Q: Hi everybody,
I bought TIXT at around $37.00 so I am really under water. Should I take a loss and move on, or do you think this stock will recover? Thanks so much for your great advice.
Jane
I just want to confirm that thru this "risk on" period which will sustain for the foreseeable future, I am doing the correct thing by "holding" as opposed to "selling" these growth stocks.
Q: Hi,
TIXT is now a lot cheaper than when the 5i report came out. Does it look attractive in a market like this or should one expect more drawdowns before things pick up? I was considering a half position. I would appreciate your thoughts.Thanks.
In my basket of TECH, I have many losers that you have been high on(not your fault).
I have regretted selling "losers" that recovered sharply and sat on some that the opportunity cost turned out to high.
Are there any in the list above that the risk/reward of hanging on justifies not selling to top up positions in SHOP,TOI and/or CRWD that are also down.
Which order would you sell from the sell list and which order would you buy from the 3 buys
Q: I sold my GUD shares and would like to use this cash to add to either LSPD 1.7 % , SIS 3.4% , TIXT 1.1%. Which one would you add first or should I add to all 3? This is for a TFSA account.
Q: I have been looking at recommendations in the questions and have picked the companies listed above to look into.
Without considering sector diversification, would you say each of these individually are strong companies to invest in, or would you separate these into different tiers?
In what order would you take a position in these stocks if you were to invest today? (e.g. may want to wait until prices for growth stocks like TIXT/TSU stabilize)
Also please provide suggested entry prices for each.
