Q: Hi guys, thanks for the excellent service. Generally TFSA is the place for high growth but my highest growth has been in my RRSP. Is there any compelling reason I should sell anything in RRSP and rebuy in TFSA (e.g., NVDA)? I realize I will be taxed on RRSP withdrawals while TFSA withdrawals are tax-free - but - my RRSP has a lot more cash than my TFSA so there isn't room to move all my growthy stuff over. Because of the relative size of RRSP to TFSA, if I were to do equal weighting of all stocks, I'd only have 4 different stocks in my TFSA, which perhaps is fine? Are there any obvious adjustments that you would make to the following:

RRSP:
XQQ 13.68%
VXC 12.03%
NVDA 7.64%
AAPL 6.70%
JPM 4.73%
BNS 4.52%
GOOG 4.32%
ENB 4.13%
MSFT 3.98%
AMZN 3.86%
RTX 3.51%
COST 3.42%
PG 3.11%
DIS 2.82%
CASH 1.32%

TFSA:
GSY 5.28%
CRWD 3.31%
VEEV 2.50%
ROKU 2.44%
SHOP 2.26%
WELL 0.85%
XBC 1.08%

RESP:
LSPD 0.79%
BYD 0.76%

NON-REG:
SLF 0.51%
T 0.42%

thanks,

Q: Can you recommend 5 blue chip U.S. stocks that look attractive right now? I have capital that I'd like to put to work and I currently own AMZN, ABBV, BMY, NVDA and COST. Looking to add some other names. I'm looking at HD on the most recent pullback and JPM.

Thank you,
Jason

Q: Hi,
I assume that you will deduct question points as you see fit.
I am considering simplifying and 'conservatising' my RRIF.My wife andI are in our mid 70's.
Portfolio Analytical has again shown that my account is unbalanced with inadequate foreign content. I also need to increase my weightings in Consumer (discretional and defensive), Industrial and Technology.

Could you please suggest 5 names for conservative longterm holds in non Canadian Stocks or ETF's in the following categories?
a)consumer defensive
b)consumer discretionary
c)Industrials
d)Technology .

With many thanks,
David

Q: I was hoping you could go sector by sector and suggest some companies in both Canada and the USA which you think will attract investor interest partly because of their ESG-friendly tilt.

As one analyst explained, there are commodity producers whose costs will be reduced thanks to ESG-related government grants, thereby boosting profitability. Wondering what you make of that and if you can suggest any examples. Thanks.

Q: What US stocks would you recommend to reduce volatility of a portfolio which is overweight on US growth stocks (mostly IT)? Looking for dividend payers, which are expected to grow at a moderate pace and are reasonable priced for that growth.

Q: I'm trying to build a diversified portfolio and I'm weak as far as income/value stocks are concerned. It would be helpful if you could provide me with a list of 5 Canadian and 5 American companies that provide some income and have a history of increasing their dividends. I'm not seeking high dividends so much but more interested in companies that pay a dividend but keep steady growth as a goal as well. If you would rank the lists best to worst it would be a bonus. Your support is much appreciated.

I guess and hope not, since it is not a "US LP" .I sold ET to Buy KO+PG instead ,at least no more tax on dividends and more stability ! thanks all for points of vue .

Q: Could you please rank these consumer defensive stocks and why - STZ, DOL, ATD.B, MRU and PG.
Need to increase my US and International exposure, however considering selling STZ (in a RRSP)
What are you thoughts? Is there an ETF in this sector you favour with US /International exposure? Thank you

Q: We are in the process of transferring some under performing RRSP mutual funds to our self directed RRSP investment account. Our TSFA's have been maxed out with mostly growth oriented stocks. Presently, we have a smaller self directed RRSP with limited number of positions. With the transfer we will have a sizeable amount of money to reinvest in our RRSP accounts. Would it be advisable to mirror one of your model portfolios, or consider all the above positions and add accordingly?

Are there any of the listed companies you would suggest increasing positions on and any in which should not be added to at the present time?
Portfolio analytics
Shows we need to increase our exposure to International and US.
As well, do you have any ideas to increase exposure to: (Stocks or ETF's)
Basic material
Communication services
Consumer defensive
Health care
Industrials
Real estate

Thanks Gord

Q: I hold a lot of CGI in a tax deferred account. I sense you have grown lukewarm towards the company, but are not icy (yet) . Am I reading you right? I am OK holding (after some trimming), but if I have understood your view correctly , my question follows. If I were to sell, what would you suggest as replacement. Infosys and Accenture came to mind, but I have overdone it collecting far too many technology businesses in tech. Would you please therefore name some of your top picks amongst companies that have global operations, and (preferably) some dividend growth. I thought of PG and UL but know nothing about them. Your top picks would be very helpful.

Q: I have a target allocation of 40-45% for total portfolio US exposure. Which ETFs would you suggest (either currency) to form the core of this allocation? Could you also please provide a handful of individual US picks to supplement. Aiming for long term growth with 20+ yr time horizon. Thanks!

Q: HI, I wish to add a US stock (large Cie) in my RRSP with those criteria:
1) Safe dividends
2) Some growth
3) Not overpriced ( technology stocks seem very popular and expensive )
I hesitate between PG and VZ
Which one would suit better ?
Any other suggestion in this context ?
Many thanks JY
