Q: I am about to triple the size of my investment in the portfolio above and give equal weighting to all. Virtually all of this new money will be in non-registered accounts. In total, this self-directed portfolio will represent 20% of my holdings; I also have 40% in a growth-focused pension fund, and 40% in a mix of ETFs through a robo-advisor.
Do you have any suggested changes to the list of names? I am primarily focused on growth, with a 3-5 year horizon.
Do you recommend a different weighting e.g. heavier on some, lighter on others?
What are your thoughts regarding timing? I am tempted to put all of the new money in now, betting on the sustainability of the recent recovery. But I understand that a phased approach will reduce risk.
Thanks for your help.

Q: I have a full position in kxs partial position in otex and a small position in lspd. I am looking to add more tech to my tfsa and considering either gib.a or dsg. Which would you recommend and is there much overlap between what I already have and dsg and gib.a? Thank you.

Q: I currently own DSG,KXS,LSPD,OTEX,PHO,SYZ. I know you took out SYZ some time ago and can't find what you replaced this stock with? I know you still follow SYZ and just wondered if you feel that there is a better stock than SYZ or would you continue to hold this stock with the other stock mentioned?
Thanks

Q: Hi 5i,
I currently have shares in LSPD and RESN and looking to add two more tech oriented names, and can be either US or CAN$. Do you have two growth companies you could suggest to start new positions at current share prices, with the intention for a 5 year min hold?
Thank you
Terry

Q: Hi Peter and 5i:
Thanks you for all your sage advice during the C19 situation. The question and answer part of your website is invaluable. Also thanks for the special reports you've issued.
I have almost a full position in KXS with the gains from the past year. It is in my TFSA. I'm starting to build a position in DSG with my TFSA yearly contributions. With the run up of KXS would you trim a bit and put the proceeds to DSG. Or just let it run? I know you still like it a ton.

Q: Hi Everyone at 5i! The market has surely been a rollercoaster ride over the last few months. I have 40K US to deploy and am looking for a solid growth stock or two with a good moat. Right now might not be the time to invest but I have time. Do you have a few stock suggestions for me for now or in the near future? Thank you , Tamara

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan and team,

How would you rank BYD, PBH, QSR and DSG for an add on in a RESP? Time frame is 8 years. Would rankings change within a TFSA?

Is it possible to buy stocks for a child who is under 18? Or would the child have to wait until 19 to own stocks.?

Please charge however among of credit for the questions.

Thanks again for your your great service!

Q: Hi guys,

In today's environment, would you be more inclined to let these names grow a little larger than normal ie: instead of selling the stock when it grows to 7% (back to 4%) of your portfolio, let it get to 10%.
Thanks

Jim

Q: I hold 2 % weighting of this company and am a little nervous about the Covid effect going forward for IGM. I am down 30 % on it. What might be a better company, in any sector going forward to recover the 30 % ?

Q: I recently sold Shopify at a huge gain, as it had become more than 30% of my portfolio. Thank you for the recommendation. It was in my non-registered account, so I have a substantial capital gain. I have a lot of room in my TFSA, so I am going to move a majority of the proceeds there to avoid future capital gains. I will buy back into Shopify if the price retreats. Can you recommend any stocks, understanding that there is higher risk, that have a similar potential to Shopify? Can be Canadian or US. I have some Lightspeed already. Also, for future reference, did I make a reasonable move or should I have taken a different approach? Thanks

Q: Thanks for your flash report. Much appreciated.
Without doing a full review, which of the above would risk being downgraded if you were to do a full review? Thanks. Your service is great!

Q: Have been dithering on having a greater tech exposure for my portfolio due to my ignorance of the space. Nonetheless, have narrowed down to two choices, Descartes or Taiwan Semiconductor. Given their low correlation (.25) would you favor, one, the other or both? (anticipated total exposure < 5%) Currently have a small, speculative position in PHO:CA (<2%) Other solid, possibly dividend paying suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Q: My Tech holdings are represented by csu; kxs; otex; shop; lspd. All held in TFSA. Have had good results with all except lspd which is a relatively new purchase and am willing to ride out my position in this company and wait for recovery.
You frequently mention DSG as a top pick in the tech sector and am considering selling otex and adding dsg. I do not want to increase my overall Tech position.
Your opinion?

Q: Hi Peter & 5i team,
We sold Descartes for a profit when the covid 19 story broke. We are thinking of repurchasing . The global supply chain has suffered greatly during the pandemic, but we read that there has been a rebound of freight volumes in China. The CEO admits there are uncertainties and perhaps change ahead for supply chains. What are your thoughts. Is it a good time to get in or perhaps waiting a bit more is prudent.
Thanks for your opinion
