Q: Teck lost 12% in 2 days. It's seams to be related to the Chili issue or is it? Management claim that they have an agreement with the government. ''TORONTO, May 18 (Reuters) - Canada’s Teck Resources sees little risk of higher taxes in copper powerhouse Chile due to a stability agreement that shields the company's massive Quebrada Blanca Phase 2 copper project from higher levies for 15 years, Chief Executive Don Lindsay said on Tuesday.'' What do you think? I'm a long term investor but find the drop steep and wonder if there is not anything else. We know politics have little effect long term but a change in leadership in Chili may change all previous agreements. It wouldn't be the first time we witness a government scrap a contract with a miner. Your take please.

Q: What companies would your recommend for minerals like graphite, cobalt, etc to meet the coming demand for electric vehicles? I am most interested in North American companies if we have them. Are any of these companies good value now or have they already gone through the roof?

Q: Peter
please comment on Starr Peak Mining LTD (STE-X).
I have a couple of thousand mad money to buy a small cap mining company and was wondering if this might fit the bill.
On May 4th they reported maiden drilling results. I can't figure if they were good or not.
April 22 Starr Peaks formed World Class Advisory Team and strengthens management. Do you know them?
March 18 Starr Peak Exploration LTD name change to Starr Peak Mining.
I realize this is a small cap but at the end of the day is it buyable or can you name something else that you might like better?
Thanks Ron

Q: Hi Peter...I believe SQM mines most of it's Lithium in Chile. Possibly the company is domiciled in Chile which may protect it. Do you know if the legislators intend to revise the royalties on all mineral extraction, including Lithium, besides targeting the gold / copper producers? If production of any material is reduced then higher prices might be expected. Of course too high prices may put an end to the demand side of the party generally. Maybe the internal combustion engine will hang around a bit longer than expected!
Thanks,
Jim

Q: Hi Peter...You have noted FM's high debt load. I once owned Inmet Mining which was taken over by FM, primarily to take control of Inmet's Panama copper claims. (The Panama claims were not mine at the time. Not even sure it was an ore body). The mine development was, I think, a big bite for FM. However they did develop those Panaama "copper ore claims" into a working mine. I believe the mine has now been operating for about 18 months. Does the mine seem to be producing copper at the cost and quantity anticipated? In other words is the mine as profitable as it was hoped for? If so do you know if FM has started to pay off the loans?
Thanks,
Jim

Q: Hello to all

As I read the Q&A this morning and learned about the problems in Chile, I understood why Lundin was down yesterday and was so out of line with its sector. I just opened a position, bad timing. What is its weight in Chile exactly and do you still trust this company for the short, medium or long term (with its current valuation). Maybe it would be better to liquidate the position. What do you think about it?

Thank you very much.
