Q: I hold these 8 equities in one part of my portfolio. I am not sure if it makes a difference, I am up on some and down on others.

The approximate weight and the gain / loss is shown for each. ATZ (3%, +17%); CNR (4%, -7%); CM (4%, +8%); Acuity Ads (0.5%, - 37%); MG (4%; - 11%) RY (6% + 5.5%).

I wish to free up about 2% of the portfolio for a cash requirement. Taxes are not an issue.

Two questions: First, if you were me, which / what would you sell to free up some cash? Second, is there anything here that should be let go because it is time to move on from it? I know AT is too small to make much impact but I am inclined to continue to hold it, for a potential bounce. Many thanks

Q: Hello Peter & Team,

MG is showing a P/E of 16.85 yet the PEG is a -2.64 meaning that the company is losing money or that the estimated growth rate for future earnings is negative, indicating that the earnings of the company are expected to decrease in the future. Have I read this/interpreted this correctly? And if so, is MG a company we should be staying a clear of right now? Or do I have this all wrong?

Thanks for all you do

Q: Disregarding objectives/diversification etc, how would you rank these companies in order of buying right now (for steady growth)? If you think any (or all) should not be bought currently, just omit from your ordering. Thank you!

Q: Looks to me that it's time to start looking in the 'bargain bin' for some heavily discounted companies. I like to find good solid companies that have been taken down with the market but through no fault of their own. They also are so good at running their businesses that I need to wait for times like these to purchase them. I'm an investor who can accept medium risk and dividends are always welcome. Please focus on Canadian companies.

Q: Hi,
Trying to decide whether to top up Boyd to a 2% position or sell it and buy Magna instead. No tax implications. As an fyi we also own DOO @ 2% incase that impacts diversification. We’ve been a happy Boyd share holders for years- thank you! Just wondering which company you think has more upside going forward.
Thanks for all that you do!

Q: Hello Peter and Team

I have above stocks in my TFSA account. I am down CAE 10%, NVEI 47%, ENGH 17%, KXS 24%, LSPD 12%, QIPT 18%.

Normally I will consider all of them as good growth stocks but with the rotation now hapening in the market, I am wondering if I should keep them for the next 12 months or I should switch to more value stocks.

I value you opinion

Q: I have always been hesitant to invest in the auto industry for various reasons but I am thinking with all the shortages of new cars which will continue for quite some time that perhaps now might be a good time to invest. Would you agree with this line of thinking and would it be better to invest in the car manufacturers or the parts makers like Magna?

Q: I have some extra USD money from a small US pension that is used for going to Florida in the winters. Since we have not gone in the last two years, I would like to put some of it in our TFSA. My questions are, if I buy say TD on the NY stock exchange would the dividend in US dollars be subject to 15% withholding tax. Could you please give me several companies I could buy into if this is true. Could you also give me several US companies or ETF's that would give me a dividend and hopefully growth for a long term hold. Thank you for all the help I get for being a member. Gary

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and Team,

For a TFSA that includes all sectors except for Consumer Cyclical (don't know how I let this happen!), what would be your top five Canadian picks in Consumer Cyclicals for 2022? Should all 6K go into one of them, or should two or three be purchased for diversification purposes?

Thanks in advance for your valued assistance, and the best of the season to everyone at 5i as well as your members. I've learned so much from all of you!
