Q: Portfolio Analytics suggests I need to increase my U.S. holdings and communication services allocations as it current says I have no comm. services. 2 part question to help address this gap in my portfolio (feel free to take 2 credits):
1) I currently hold TTD. Do you consider TTD a communication service? Your platform labels it as technology (software) whereas BMO Investorline labels it a comm. service.
2) Can you please provide me with your favorite 3-5 U.S. names in communication services (in order) that you would start a position in today. This would be bought in either my TFSA or RRSP. I am a younger investor that has 20+ years until retirement (defined benefits pension) so would be focusing on growth. A dividend is not a requirement.

I have scanned past answers to look for names you have mentioned recently (somen noted above) but there was never a focused question on just communication services.

Thanks for the fantastic service! I cannot understate how much I have learnt since becoming a member.

Q: I am interested in starting a position in 1 or 2 of the companies addressed. PINS was at the top of my list but I’m uncertain if I’ve missed my opportunity after their impressive earnings report. Can you please rank these companies in order of growth potential for the rest of the year / best value at today’s prices.
Thank you.

Q: Hi Peter,
Thanks you very much for introducing PLTR on BNN a while ago. It seems to be a winner!
If you appear on BNN now, what would be your top picks (US only)?
Comparing US stocks with Canadian stocks which soon might be listed in US( such as AT.to), do you think these Canadian stocks have some advantage? In another word, should I just pick the top US stocks for retail investor like me?

I really appreciate your opinion!

Q: First of all, thank you for your amazing work. Cannot express how helpful my 5i subscription has been. Life-changing in all honesty.

My positions in LSPD (17.3%) and GSY (12.7%) have gotten a little out of hand. I was fortunate to pick them up near their lows in April. I've already trimmed both a couple of times, but I am really struggling to sell more given the positive outlook 5i has of both for the future. I've seen similar questions asked about trimming and selling positions with phenomenal growth and seen your responses suggesting to trim positions to reasonable weightings. I thought I might have an easier time doing so if you suggested some positions to add to or some new ones viewed as favourably as LSPD and GSY.

I have the following companies in a TFSA and have included the weightings only of positions I think might warrant a second look. While I anticipate a comment about weightings needing to be personal what would YOU suggest as the highest weighting for LSPD and GSY? And, again, please suggest some positions to add to or new ones.

Feel free to take question credits as you see fit.

DOO (2.1%), ATZ (2%), AW.UN, BYD
ATD.B
BMO, BRK-B:US, GSY (12.7%)
WELL (4%), VEEV:US (1.3%)
CAE, DAL:US, AC (1%), XBC (3%)
LSPD (17.3%), KXS (7.6%), DSG (3%), CSU, PHO (1.1%), AMD:US, CRWD:US (2.4%), U:US (2.1%), NVDA:US (0.83%), TTD:US(1.2%)
ROKU:US (1.9%), TTWO:US (1.2%), PINS:US (1.5%)
AQN, BEP.UN
REAL

Thank you again

Q: Recently in response to questions, 5iR provided  target sector weightings for a dividend conservative portfolio and also for a balanced portfolio.
For my income portfolio, with a target sector weight of 10% for Communications, I have a position of 3.50% in BCE and, for health care, with a target sector weight of 10%, I have no positions. What are some Cdn and US stocks and ETF, even in Cdn dollars, would you suggest I consider.

When it comes to the balance portfolio, the communication target sector weight of 5%, I have at position of 3.00% in Telus and in the case of health care, with a target sector weighting of 10% (say in US stocks), I hold no positions. Again, what are some US stocks and ETF, even in Cdn dollars, would you suggest I consider.

Yes this is two questions in one...so please deduct two credits............Again, Thanks........Tom

Q: Good morning Peter, Ryan and Team,

What US companies would you be putting new TSFA money into for 10 year hold? Assume a diversified portfolio and trying to get high growth for TSFAs.

Thank you,

Wes

Q: Kxs has been drifting lower for the past few weeks. Comments?
Also, in response to today’s question from John asking you to rate TFSA stocks for a 5 year hold your answer didn’t include KXS as he requested. Could you revisit this response please.

Q: Hi Folks,
Looking to add to my TFSA for 2021 - want something with some growth for a 5+ years hold - I am looking at NVDA, PINS, PLTR, U, CRWD, CSU, KXS and SHOP - can you recommend in order of preference.
Thanks

Q: I am a fairly new investor and was wondering your thoughts on when to begin diversifying? I own approximately 15 companies, mostly being TECH and Financial. Recently bought NVDA shares and am looking at U, CRWD and LSPD but not too sure when I should approach other sectors and look at companies like COST or TT for example. I would be targeting my RSP in this approach. (Not sure if that matters)

Also, your must own top 3 US/CND stocks for the next 25+ years for a TFSA?

Thanks for all that you do
Nick

Q: Myself and my 21 yo daughter have been building a balanced portfolio following your recommendations. Thanks to your service this has been an incredible learning experience for her and profitable to boot! Right now we are trying to decide between PINS NVDA and AMZN to add to her TFSA (We are also adding TT at this time and are balanced across market sectors). Just wonder which you would prefer at this time for potential long long term growth.

Q: Hi 5i,
In a US dollar account (non-reg) I have about 1.25% of my overall portfolio sitting in cash.
My approach with this account is to buy stocks that I don't have to sell for a long period of time and therefore have capital gains.

In my overall portfolio I already own Alphabet (4%),Apple (4%), Amazon (2.5%), Disney (2%), Facebook (1.5%), Microsoft (2.5%), Paypal (0.5%), Tesla (7% soon to be trimmed) Visa (4%).
Given what I already own (and that I would like a stock that is a long term 5-10 year hold) would you add to anything from the above list? Or would you invest in something else such as Costco or Pinterest?

A suggested order of preference would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Q: Happy New Year 5i,
A question was asked on Jan 04 which I will expand on. Can you rank the following in order to purchase for a 1-3 year hold at a minimum.
AT, XBC, U, FSLY, TTD, PINS, ABNB, CRWD, CRM, WDAY, SNOW, ZM, DOCU
Many of the stocks are in a consolidation period after a sharp rise this year. Of the list, which 5 stocks would be considered a higher risk that they have not bottomed out or a correction may yet be due?

Thank you for your great service.
Cheers,
Debbie and Jerry

Q: I am concerned about 30% of my holdings being in IT and would like to reduce perhaps by half and cover some other sectors for balance. (Just read your year-end article about predicting 2021 - perhaps you would not be concerned about 30% going forward)
What order might you trim / sell these to raise cash?
Much thanks for steering us through a year full of uncertainty.

Q: Do you subscribe to the theory that it is good to wait for lockup periods to pass before buying shares in a new public company? I’ve listed a few newer stocks - do you happen to have the lockup period dates for these? Any other notable ones?
