Q: This company BRP is very well run and has reported continuous growth, as well as seemingly never misses earnings.
Anyway my only concern is, in the current economic climate, with a company making "expensive toys" like BRP, how much of that likely downturn will affect its sales (and then directly on share price)?
I try to research back to 2008 (the last major economic crisis) but nothing goes back that far on line. Of course the forecast published by the company and selected analysts, though mentioned the current economy issues, still paint a very rosy picture for the near future.
Is my concern about the potential downturn and its effect on BRP valid? What is your take on this? Thanks.
Q: What are the Rev & EPS street estimates of ATZ for upcoming Q2. U opinion please. Why is Doo down so much today after up $3.01 yesterday.
Txs for u usual great services & opinions
I looked at the DOO company web site and could not find any products that use batteries. I think that this might be a good growth area. Do you know if they have any products that use batteries are if there any in development. I understand one of their competitors, Polaris has battery operated products available. Do you think DOO might experience supply, labor shortages in the near term which might impact their earnings?

Q: In your opinion which company in each of the 4 groupings offer. the best rate of return over the next 5 years?
Atd.b v.s. Pki
Cnr v.s tfii
Dol v.s. Do
Shop v.s. Lspd
Thank you
Been watching DOO for a while but remained on sidelines etc. etc....I realize that DOO's large share price increase was related to recent earnings release, so ....with the recent run up in share price would you still be buyers of this stock for a new position--2-3 year hold? Why/why not?
Would you add to existing position? or would wait with expectation of a retrace?
On a August 31 answer you listed BRP as "Consumer Defensive". I think it may have just been put in the wrong category, but could you confirm? In all my looking I don't see anything other than recreation related products.
Q: I have enough money to top up one of my positions and bring it closer to 5%. These are the candidates. I am diversified, but maybe a little tech heavy. I have Topicus at 5% All are in my TFSA, so a growth tilt is appropriate. But I'm stuck in analysis paralysis. Does any one of these jump out at this time as a particularly good candidate to top up. I know you like them all, so I guess it is a bit like picking your favourite child. But go ahead and pick. Your insight will be appreciated, and much better than me flipping a coin.
Q: Earlier this year we created an equal weighted 'balanced' portfolio of 30 Canadian companies in a non-registered account. Most were chosen from companies either covered by a 5i research report or included in a 5i model portfolio. The remainder were chosen, based on the 5i Q&A section, from what appear to be 5i sector favourites. All purchases in the portfolio are made with the intent to be long-term holds (10+ years).
Our intent is to increase our investments in the 30 companies over time. We have recently increased our positions in BIPC and MG. At this time we would like to increase our investments in 10 of the remaining 28 companies. The intent is to increase the remaining 18 in approximately 6 months. Which 10 would you add to today? Please rank them, include a small blurb explaining each choice and indicate an approximate buy price. Thanks!
Q: I am looking at a TFSA in which the funds will be withdrawn in about 5 years. I want to replace RY with something with a greater return potential, and will accept some risk for that hopeful gain in total return. Staying in Canada.
I am stuck picking between TOI, GSY, WELL, LSPD, ATZ and DOO. You seem to like them all. Which one or two would you pick today? and Why?
Q: I would like to start a Growth portfolio, with 60% US and 40% Canadian stocks. I have approximately $300,000 for this account and a long term view. Would appreciate some suggestions. thanks
