Q: I own these stocks in my RRSP and would like to sell two, using the proceeds to buy them back in a US$ TFSA.Which two would you advise to make this switch? I could utilize DLR.U and DLR to do this and pay the required tax using cash in my C$ TFSA .Can this switch be done directly with the tax being paid separately?

Q: Greetings All:
The only tech name I own is MSFT, and I should have added to this sector long ago. Would you please do a comparison between apple and facebook including the following metrics: Expected growth, volatility, fundamentals including strength of the balance sheet, cash on hand. Finally, your recommendation or perhaps other more favourable companies.
Thanks,
Ben.

Q: Hi everyone!

I have a 2% weighting in technology. I am deploying a lump sum from a real estate sale and so far I've deployed 35% of my total, with 1% each in Kinaxis and Lightspeed, although Lightspeed is now probably a 2% position with its advance. Looking to exchange some money to U.S. dollars and was looking at the Companies above. My target weighting for technology is 14% so I can add a few companies. Which are your favourites? Any others to add to the list?

Thanks,
Jason

Q: I am starting to think about what should I buy with the $6K I can add to my TFSA in January. I like growthy names, and currently have BYD, DSG, ENGH, KXS, LSPD, REAL SHOP, and WELL in my TFSA. I have a well diversified portfolio, so not worried about the sector.

I was thinking of NVEI, DND, or maybe Topicus. Or some of your US favourites: CRWD, U, VEEV, PLTR.

Can you suggest your 2 top favourites from Canada and the US for a TFSA for a long term hold.

Topicus is supposed to be trading on the TSX Venture exchange. Do you think that will limit investor interest? I decided a few years ago that one of my rules was never to buy anything on the Venture exchange. But maybe I will have to break that rule (I will get Topicus shares from the CSU spinout). What is your overall opinion of Topicus, and how would you rank it in terms of growth prospects and capital appreciation in relation to the stocks I have in my TFSA, and NVEI, and DND.

Thanks,
Paul

Q: This is more of an observation than a question. I am disappointed that you are now recommending "nosebleed" momentum stocks like CRWD and TTD quite often, and went so far to to include some of these momentum stocks in your answer to a question about which US stocks you would add today. In my humble opinion, buying stocks with astronomical valuations that are already up 10-fold or more from their 52 week lows is not normally a good recipe for investment success. It would be especially imprudent to buy such momentum stocks that are not even profitable and trade on the basis of Price to Sales. On the other hand, it is good that you are disclosing your personal ownership of many of these nosebleed stocks: I hope that you will also let your readers know when you sell...

Q: Hi,
Question 1: When do you plan to add the new positions in the growth portfolio? If you can't share that information, would you be able to share the short list of what you are considering?

Question 2: If you were able to add US positions what would they be?

Thanks again for your wonderful service and happy holidays.

Q: Hi 5i team,

Currently I own in my TFSA the following stocks: CSU, DSG, KXS, OTEX, PHO, REAL, SIS, WELL, XBC, NVDA,VALE and PDYPF (Thanks to SHOP my TFSA grew considerably)
I would like to keep in TFSA only high growth stocks. After reading some of your answers it seems that CRWD and U are good candidates to add.
Please advise which stocks should I sell or move to my cash account to make room for mentioned stocks.

Becoming a 5i member was the best decision ever, thank you for you guidance and amazing service. Reading the Q&A became my daily morning ritual while drinking my coffee.
To all the team Happy Holidays.

Q: This past week has a lot of concern raised over widespread security issues, not just in the US. Stocks in the sector all responded with huge upside. My question is really about FEYE and TENB which are much smaller than CRWD. Those 2 stocks traded at much higher volumes on Friday. Do they have some particular answer to this latest security breach that the larger companies may not have? Let me take this opportunity to wish everyone at 5i a merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Q: Seasons greetings from Nunavut... I'd like to start positions, however all are currently overvalued according to MS - I understand its difficult to value these types of stocks. So far I have a little of all of them, except TTD. Should I just buy??? Or wait till they pull back? Are there some you would buy now and others you'd wait and see?

Q: I’m looking for the 5i Team’s stamp of approval to sell Microsoft and buy into CRWD and U.
Obviously MSFT is a solid play but perhaps these two have more growth potential?

Q: Hi Team,
I am looking to raise cash to buy CRWD. I need to sell/ trim something to raise cash to do this. Out of the following stocks, which would you recommend selling to do this: KXS, DSG, FB, Docu? Or...would you recommend this at all? Note that I currently hold KXS/ FB / Docu in 2 seperate accounts so I would probably only sell half positions in those ones. Thanks for your help!

Q: Thanks to your excellent recommendations 2020 has been a record year for my family’s portfolio. Thank-You.
However, I feel like I need to consolidate some of the tech companies I own so when their prices rise I will have more torque. Which of the above companies would you suggest I merge, drop, or even add? Growth is my only objective.
Enjoy the holidays.

Q: Please pick 1 stock for each of Canada, USA and Global. No restriction on sector.
( use as many credits as required)

A. Shorterm buy for 3 to 6 month, momentum type buy, get out once it slows.
B. Longterm hold growth stock ( 5+ years), but you expect a quick rise in the shorterm.
C. Longterm hold balanced stock ( somegrowth, stable adn growing div), maybe something that has been beaten up by covid that provides a good buy right now.
