Q: Please rank the following companies for long term holds in a TFSA, with a management rating for each. (10 being the best)

Also, I currently hold SHOP and CSU.. Do you feel LSPD and TOI overlap these larger companies too much to consider a position ?

Please suggest any other Canadian companies not listed for long term holds.

Q: I plan to sell these stocks for a tax loss and then buy them back after 30 days. Could you suggest a proxy stock that I could buy as a replacement for the 30 days

I am thinking ATZ has a better short term outlook.

Q: Based on your reply to Paul on May 9th...."We think buying over a year will end up looking pretty good in two or three years". Of the following Companies that make up my portfolio what would be your TOP 3 conviction names to ADD to over the next year based on long term growth potential, good valuation, well run, good management, no brainer this will be a good investment type choice. There is opportunity here so don't want to miss the boat. Yes everything is down. Yes people are panicking. But it will go back up and simply want to focus my energy on the ones with more conviction. I don't need the money for the next 15-20 yrs but don't want to be a moron either and be happy with a bit of dividend here and there when I could see larger returns by making a good decision today. Thinking of selling MG in my cash account and replacing it with ATZ.

I can use the capital loss, to off set the gains on my energy I am sold.

Does this make sense?

Q: Is there a reason for the near 7% drop on Friday, following a stellar quarterly report as well as increased guidance for the upcoming year? Was the announced change in CEO that poorly received?

Atz beat earnings and things appear to be going strong on all fronts for the business…yet the stock tanks some more today. Is this one of those disconnects where an investor should be buying more shares ?

Q: Hi. Aritzia is down more than their share today. In their last quarter report they forecast a decent lookout.
Would mgmt have to issue a missed earnings forecast? I seem to think i’ve seen some companies do this.
Is this a buying opportunity if one doesn’t have a full position?

Q: I have trimmed some of my oil % gas stocks today back to my sector weight and would like to rotate the proceeds to other stocks. I already have the Balance Portfolio of stocks including MG at full position and was thinking of buying some LNR to complement MG or do you think there are other stocks in the Balanced Portfolio that you would consider more compelling at this time? Could you name your preference? Thanks.

Q: Given your recent answer regarding CROX, I had a look at the sector and noticed big moves yesterday. Also many of these are very near lows for the year. My question is would you put money to work in the sector now? Do you have a few favourites and is there an ETF that emphasizes this retail/clothing part of consumer discretionary as opposed to something like XLY which emphasizes very different segments?
