Q: I hold these large Canadian Companies.. I realize there will be continued volatility in the market but given that these companies have pulled back, some significantly, what order would you buy these names? Are there any you would not buy?

Please deduct appropriately…

Thank you
Tim

Q: My mortgage is coming due at a much higher rate than it has been for the past 5 years, so given the current economic uncertainty, I’ve decided to sell half of my unregistered portfolio to pay it off. I understand this will incur tax, and I’m prepared for that. Here are my holdings—please advise on the optimal order of selling to ensure the remaining portfolio is defensive, particularly against tariffs and economic uncertainty. I'm open to the cheese slicer method across some or all stocks. Please deduct credits as you see fit. Thank you!

Q: Five plus year holder here of Alimentation Couch Tard stock, but can't help but notice the share price has flat lined for a few years now. Revenues haven't grown consistently and ROE & ROIC have been deteriorating YOY for a while now, and enough to make me question this holding going forward. Mgmt must be concerned of their decline, hence the 7-11 acquisition push. Thinking of selling out entirely and moving the position to DSG. Two very different companies, but what are your thoughts?

Q: ATD shares had been doing well until some months ago when they announced an intention to acquire 7/11, and the stock price began to fall. However the owners of 7/11 said they were opposed and appeared to take steps to resist. There has not been any news about ATD's efforts in a couple of months (at least that I have heard) and I would conclude that this is no longer in the cards. But the share price continues to decline.

1. Are you aware of news indicating ongoing efforts by ATD to pursue that purchase?
2. Do you have any insight why the share price continues to decline?
3. Would they be (much) affected by tariffs, if that should ever happen?
4. What is your outlook for ATD going forward?

Many thanks for your excellent service

Q: Good morning 5i staff
A couple of months ago I sold pbh for a tax loss and bought a Td for a replacement. Since that time atd has gone down close to15%. I am now thinking about selling it for tax loss. Even if I buy pbh or some other stock for thirty days, I would rather own atd. Do you see any catalyst in the near future that would cause atd to rise quickly.?
Thanks as always for the great service

Q: My sense is that Dollarama will continue to grow on plan and perhaps do better under the US Tariff plan.

From a Tariff perspective please provide your evaluation of the following names and how they might prevail or be negatively affected by US Tariffs:

SHOP
ATD
DOL
PRL (propel Holdings)
WCN
GFL

Thank You, Patrick

Q: Hello, I own above for my RSP... Obviously, I am disappointed with Telus and BCE and I am down some 25%.. I can understand BCE's poor management, but how about Telus? also in the dumpsters.
If I sell Telus and BCE, do you suggest that I add to one of the above as I want to keep my holdings to 10-12 stocks . Any suggestions?
Thanks
Carlo

Q: We have ~$8000 in cash in a TFSA currently holding 5 securities (ATD, BCE, CP, GOOG, TECKa; [the portfolio is otherwise well-diversified with ~20 other securities held within RSP/non-registered accounts]), and would like to add to one or two of the positions. Which one or two would you recommend to add to these existing holdings (position size is not an issue), and why?

Q: The noted stocks are all very weak right now. I suppose on fears of recession and/or tariffs and/or specific company performance. Could you please rank these for potential to rebound in 2025? Any particularly attractive or unattractive right now to purchase with a brief rationale? Thanks!

Q: Hi 5i

Please as many questions as needed.

I am heavily invested in stocks and want to raise cash, putting more money into bonds. I have about 10% in Canadian oil and gas, 5% gold stocks, and about 13% in uranium stocks. I am going to hold my gold and uranium.

What allocation would you suggest for a retiree in terms of portfolio holdings of gas and oil?

I am concerned about the possible coming tarriffs and the effect on the Canadian ecomomy. Most of my holdings are Canadian. A lot of these are in dividend stocks. I have held them through the past few years but I do need to increase the allocation to conservative investments. I plan to reduce most by about 20% or consider outright sells. I currently prefer to reduce downside risk than worry about the upside.

Can you help me decide from the viewpoint of possible tarriffs and effect on the Canadian economy which are at risk the most. Could you class these as hold, reduce or sell. I will hold all my U.S. stocks which are about 15% of my portfolio and haven't listed those here.

Thank you for your very helpful advice.
