Q: I am currently down on GFL, and am considering replacing it with TFII in my portfolio. Do you think this is a solid move with regards to GFL’s potential compared to that of TFII.

Q: I am constructing a dividend growth portfolio with the intention of holding all positions for the longterm, holding the following equities in equal weight (likely only one of MRU or L - or should I include both?), with 80% of the portfolio consisting of these individual equities and 20% in the ETF VGG.

Would there be any in this list you would not include, and are there other Canadian equities you would consider for this list? Is this the appropriate number of positions for such a portfolio. Please deduct multiple credits as required, thank you.

Q: I'm in need of cash. Please place these companies in order of which you would sell first. Thanks.

Q: Which tax loss proxies would you suggest for the following companies?
Are there some that you would rather stay in cash for a month or just sell out right and buy something unrelated?
I am a bit hesitant to sell BN,GOOG and AMZN for a tax loss as I feel they have the most bounce potential on good news. What do you think of that?

Q: I have this company in my long term RRSP account thanks to 5i. I was wondering your thoughts on journaling this over to the USD side in my rrsp account and what benefits/downside could come from this for exchange or currency exposure? The div is paid in USD and my drip is turned on the idea would be if new shares were not bought that USD cash would slowly grow in the account.

Q: I have money to invest and I own none of these stocks. Could you list them in order that you would buy them today.

Q: How do this companies forward PE and cash flow multiples compare to those of its 2 closest US competitor and compared to its own historical #'s. Has it made progress on its profitability and ROIC measures which as you have said the company uses to measure its own performance. Would you buy it now with the thought that the freight recession is largely over, and the metrics previously mentioned are attractive, or would you wait until after January 20th when we find out more about tariffs and how that will impact TFI?

Q: I'd appreciate your thoughts on when to throw in the towel for stocks in taxable accounts. When companies in my registered accounts plateau or backslide, it's an easy decision to move on. I find it much more challenging to sell previously profitable stocks in taxable accounts. By way of example, at one point, I was up some 150% with TFII. That has now slid to just over 100% and it appears it will be a while until this cyclical stock recovers. In instances such as this, do you advise patience...or taking the tax hit and moving onto a company that has a clearer growth profile going forward? Thank you.

Q: I am down about 23% on a small position in ATS. If I decide to sell it for a tax loss, what are 2 or 3 US growth oriented industrial stocks to investigate as a replacement?

Q: I already hold a bit of TFII and WSP but would like more in industrials. I’m thinking of either adding to TFII or starting a position in STN or TT. Is there still good reason to add to TFII? If not, both STN and TT have good momentum, but as I already hold WSP, would TT make more sense?

Q: Thanks Peter. Your services have been very educational and rewarding. Had a good year. This is my first year of subscription and I just upgraded to the full Investor suite services. All the Q&A and research reports have been very helpful. It has made me more disciplined in my decisions as well as provided greater insights to the Investment process

As the end of the year, I am reflecting on the investments done in the year. I seek you opinion to opinion some of those as under. Position size or Industry allocation is not an issue. Time horizon is long 4+. No tax consequences and have patience; there is no need to raise cash

A. Stocks with above average returns-

ATZ 62%, TOI 72%, SIS 39%, TFII 19%, DOO 19%, NVEI 49%, WSP 32%, SHOP 19%, GSY 72%, U 106%

Do you recommend continuing to hold all of them? Would you consolidate sell some and add to some?
Would you endorse Investing new fund in 1 or 2 of them at current price to go to full position

B. Under performing stocks (loss/down)-

AT 56%, CTS 8%, EGLX 40%, LSPD 8%, MRS 69%, QST 35%, XBC 52%, Well 26%, AMGN 10%

Do you still have the conviction in these stocks? If yes which are best 3 and why? Do you recommend selling some of them or adding to some of them?

Q: I have a nice gain on TFII of 40%. Given its higher valuation with recent price increases, would you trim or change this holding to another industrial? Its currently about 4% of our retirement portfolio.

Q: I currently hold the following Industrial sector stocks: AC, CAE, MRS (very small position), WSP, XBC
Looking at adding ATA or TFII. Would you have a preference at this time and why ?
