Q: Good Morning 5i.

I am looking for some US income suggestions.

Preferably with yield’s in excess of 4%.

Long term - safe and secure - holds with potential for dividend and value growth.

Thanks very much.

Q: I hold the above within a RRIF. In total they are now worth $49K cost was $64K, current income approx $2K.

What do you think about selling them all and reinvesting in AAPL, MSFT, BRK and AMZN. Any alternatives you can suggest. I don't mind forgoing the income.

Q: I am looking for the "safest" dividend paying stocks to add to the above list that will help me weather the recession that according to most commentators will last well into 2023.
5 each from the US and Canada will be of great help.
Many Thanks

Q: Hi there, I’m a big fan of the Balanced Equity portfolio. If you had to create a US Balanced Equity Portfolio using CDRs, what stocks would you purchase to create such a portfolio?

Q: Is Verizon a value trap? It has been drifting lower, and wondering if this is due to interest rates (in which case it will rebound if rates drop) or a lack of growth prospects that will forever blunt its share price. I'm fine with it as a dividend payer if it is sustainable, but at present it is bleeding off capital that still puts me in the hole. If it's share price isn't going to recover, should I dump it?

Q: Hello 5i,
It was suggested that MMM is not going anywhere soon, but yet it hasd over 4% yield. As a value investor is it time to let it go, noting its problems or kept for yield? I f let go, would you please suggest a replacement with good yield.
Thank you
Stanley

Q: I purchased VZ about 6 months ago. The thesis was that it was a safe stock to hold during a market correction and it also paid a great dividend. Since then, the stock has plummeted 15% - not much of a safe place to be.
In your opinion, is VZ now a hold in an income portfolio, and is the dividend safe?
Many Thanks

Q: Hello, I saw that there are seven new CDRs from CIBC: Verizon, McDonald's, Nike, Starbucks, Coca-Cola, United Health, and Cisco. Without going into the CDRs versus buying on American exchanges debate, I am curious to know if some of these stocks are worth buying today, which ones, the reason why and in what order (from most compelling to least)., presumably for a 5-year holding period. Thanks.

Q: I am moving toward retirement and looking for stocks with a Dividend of 4% plus. Could you suggest some Canadian and US companies that you feel are good value in todays market or ones to watch for this fall if things go down- separate lists please. All categories except financials as I'm overweight there. I'm interested in companies that can ride a recession with higher interest rates. Thank you!

Q: My portfolio analytics is showing that I'm a bit low in my communication services sector.

Beyond the obvious telecom companies, what are some of the less obvious companies or perhaps ETFs that would fit into this sector?

Also, including the telecoms, could you rank your top few Canadian and US buys for this sector.

Thanks as always.
