Q: hi, I hold the above in my USD account. I was thinking of trimming NVDA now and see if there is a pullback to repurchase, over the next few weeks/months. MMM not doing much, and you mention not much growth. dividend is nice, but I don't need it. do you think trimming or selling MMM and adding to any of above (?BABA, down again). or do you have any other ideas for the USD account ( growthy, but low-low mid risk). thx, chris

Q: I would like to add to my CDR holdings of either PFE, ABBV or UNH. I am leaning towards PFE since it's price has been down lately and it has a decent yield. How are CDR distributions treated for tax purposes, are they considered to be Canadian or US equities?
Thank you.

Q: This question concerns Healthcare in a well-diversified Canadian portfolio (~30 holdings), focused slightly toward growth. Our target is for a 5% weight in this sector.

Currently, we only hold CSH.UN at a loss. We are open to selling it outright and replacing it with 1 or more of your favourites or topping it up and adding at least 1 growth-oriented suggestion. I understand from a previous question that CSH.UN has performed in a close range with REITs, which have adequate representation in our portfolio.

What would be your top picks in Healthcare for long term holds (5+ years)? How would you rate them (1-10, 10 being best) for new money today?

How would you proceed? Would you suggest going with 1 or 2 names? Would you suggest topping up CSH.UN and adding a 2nd name, selling CSH.UN and adding 1 or 2 new names, etc?

Thanks.

Q: RSP account, new position. 10-yr + hold. Don’t know whether to buy individual stock for nice dividend, or ETF for diversification. Thoughts?

Q: Hi,
Of this list do any of these names have concerns and if so, what might they be? Are there any you would wish to wait longer before buying? Any you do not think appropriate buys in this market? Others you feel are more compelling? If you were to buy these, in what order would you do so? I know - lots of questions - feel free to deduct accordingly! My preference is for stability of future earnings, lower or no debt and the dividend is a bit of a bonus, but not something to rely on. Many thanks!

Q: Hi Peter,
I don't have any positions in the Health Care sector. Please provide a few suggestions, either stocks and/or ETFs, for both Canada and USA. I would like the Buy and Hold for say 5 years or more strategy.
Many thanks,
Roger

I hold these in my USD account. I'm trimming PFE today as it was getting too large a holding. could you please rank all as a current buy, sell, hold. I am a long term investor. and , could you provide 2-3 other US names, with a reasonable balance of growth and downside protection in this market. cheers, chris

Q: Can you supply a few suggestions of dividend stocks that may be good to purchase during tax loss selling? Canadian and US if possible.
A few growth stocks would be a good balance to this question as well! Thanks, James

Q: Hi 5i
PFE ($49.36) has had a nice run. Any worries of a backlash against them as we all keep getting jabs and yet keep getting COVID? The virus mutates faster than they can come up with new vaccines. Will investors start to worry that this giant boost to revenue may disappear?
-And side question-how have your portfolios fared this year? Just curious since you don't own any Canadian stocks, have you managed to avoid major declines?

Q: Hi there, I’m a big fan of the Balanced Equity portfolio. If you had to create a US Balanced Equity Portfolio using CDRs, what stocks would you purchase to create such a portfolio?

Q: Hello 5i,
It was suggested that MMM is not going anywhere soon, but yet it hasd over 4% yield. As a value investor is it time to let it go, noting its problems or kept for yield? I f let go, would you please suggest a replacement with good yield.
Thank you

Q: Can you comment on the earnings and whether this pullback is a buying opportunity? My concern is that the stock has a premium valuation - would you have other suggestions you prefer in the health care space (pharma or otherwise)? Thanks
