Q: We’re retired with comfortable pensions and a 10 year+ investing horizon. To date we’ve invested in Canadian growth companies inside our TFSAs (we’ve tried to access the US market through companies such as WSP and PRL). We’ve recently opened a $USD trading account and want to start investing in relatively stable US companies with some growth potential. ISRG is one we’re considering. Could you please provide a list of 6-8 companies you’d be looking into if it was your money. Thanks so much for all you do.

Q: According to Portfolio Analytics, my current allocation to Health Care sector is too low. Here are the names of 12 major US pharmaceutical companies. How would you rank them? If possible, please provide a short comment on each of them: Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson, AbbVie, Amgen, Gilead Sciences, Eli Lilly, Merck, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Abbott, Biogen, Bristol Myers Squibbs. Q: In a portfolio with banks at 42% (TD, and National), energy at 35% (TC, Sobo, and Tourmaline) and consumer discretionary 16% (ATD), what companies would you suggest diversifying into? This is my husband's account and he buys and holds. He will be selling Telus and needs some options for telecommunications and more. Could he be more diversified? He is asking my advice but I appreciate hearing from you.

Q: My daughter recently inherited a substantial sum of money and would like me to invest such in a mix of companies, both in the US and Canada, with a modicum of international companies. She lives in Europe.
Could I respectfully ask if you could offer your chosen six equities in each of the US, Canada and worldwide (in order of preference), including one or two ETF’s, with a mid term (5 - 8 years hold) term. Could you also provide an entry point for each stock?

Q: “Joe” is getting overwhelmed with maintaining his portfolio and is starting to fall behind on autumn yardwork and home maintenance. Q: As we close in on the US election what would be your short term (up to 1 year) picks be in the US market? For a republican victory energy sector might be interesting or possibly crypto. If crypto how would you play it?
On the other hand if Democrats win what would you choose?

Q: Hello 5i

I have held ULTA and SMCI (full positions) for about a year and am reconsidering them due to changes in forecast etc.
Could you suggest 5 alternate names in the US that project growth in the next 2-3 years?
They do not need to be sector specific just strong growth and good fundamentals.

Q: Comparing NVO with LLY.
Are these companies similar? Morningstar describes NVO as Biotechnology and LLY as a Drug Manufacturer but they both have versions of the popular weight loss drugs that has caused their stock price to appreciate? Can you also help explain why NVO in the last +4 month is significantly lower than LLY?
