Q: In your answer to a recent question from Tim about how to prepare for an inevitable market correction, you suggested holding stocks in defensive areas of Consumer Staples, Utilities, and Healthcare, Can you pls provide 5-6 names in each of those areas that you would want to hold. Q: These are my current holdings. Can you suggest 2 usa names to add to this list which might be complementary? I was thinking about NXT but it's jumped today. I would like to add two names that are not at 52 week highs but yet, are also "growthy." Maybe something that has pulled back irrationally like a NXT or UNH (prior to the big gains today). Q: I hold HHL in my RRIF which is primarily focused on income. I am considering switching HHL to
HHLE. This would increase my income by approximately 30% on this money and allow me to keep the same list of healthcare stocks. Does this make sense; any downsides ; am I missing anything?

As an aside , I am at breakeven with HHL as the sector is under pressure from Trump and also United Healthcare has dampened the sector. But with Trump wanting lower drug prices , the companies will be going overseas to compensate for lower US revenue as witnessed by Eli Lilly raising international prices for Mounjaro.

Q: I hold LLY shares. Following the announcement of weight loss trial results, the stock declined approximately 14%, despite an improved 2025 outlook after a positive Q2 report. My current position is down 20%, and this investment makes up 5% of my portfolio.

Is this an appropriate time to consider increasing my position? Alternatively, are there other securities that you would prefer ? I would like to take advantage of the Trump turmoil. I am overweight technology.

Q: I currently only own AMGN is the biotech/medical sector. I am considering re-entring NOVO after the hit it is taking. Would you recommend 'catching the falling knife', purchasing LLY which appears to be suffering in sympathy with NOVO or an alternate to these two?

Q: Team, I sold LLY from a 4% to a 1% position at $950ish. It’s come down a lot and has been negative to flat recently. Is this a stock you would start adding back? ISRG is a 5% and Well a 3% with LLY at 1%. 5+ year horizon. Is there a different Healthcare firm I should be looking at?

Q: Hello, I've been holding UHN in my RRSP for a while, but the stock has taken a significant hit with a 33% loss. Given its current stagnation, I'm thinking of selling it and reallocating the funds. I have a few options in mind: I could buy a call option with a strike price of $79 expiring on Dec 27, which might give me a chance to recover some losses if the stock rebounds. Alternatively, I could sell UHN and use the proceeds to increase my stake in other healthcare stocks, such as LLY or ISRG, which I believe have more potential. Or, I could cut my losses entirely and exit the healthcare insurance sector. Which direction makes the most sense? Thanks

Q: There was an article in the Globe and Mail today by David Rosenberg about the aging population and he suggested health care related investments such as health care REITS, pharma, devices, and services. What do you think of this idea and can you give me a few recommendations in canada and the US for each of the 4 categories (health reits, pharma, devices, sefrvices)? A mix of ETFS and individual stocks would be great.
