Q: Can I ask you to suggest a few mid-cap companies that could prove to be good long term investments in the solar energy sphere? My only provisos would be a solid balance sheet and hopefully a valuation that is reasonable based on current fundamentals. Appreciate your thoughts, thanks.

Q: Hello 5i,

Trumponomics is laying waste to "green" energy. Can you list 5 stocks in Canada and 5 stocks in the USA that would be most affected? Is it worth hanging onto a small position of BEPC after the news? We have a small loss at this time.

Q: Enphase has had a tough year, and taken a nose dive from it highs; this year its been overly volatile, and much of that on a downward turn, with minimal rebounds. You have commented that growth is expected over the next few years. Is this then a good candidate for some loss harvesting and a re-buy, or does the conintued risk lean towards saying a final farewell? Thanks. Chris

Q: Acknowledging that 5i may not agree with my opinion here, if one were to believe that Solar-Wind Battery Storage systems will eventually be cheaper than Gas / Coal / Nuclear, etc. power, would BEP.UN be the best investment choice?

With regards to the above, are there any other Canadian options - even an ETF - for holding within a non-registered account. I'd want to avoid that T1135 form !

Q: Me thinks that spaceship that fearless leader Blaarg is piloting is actually an elaborate can of worms. In 10 years time, according to some environmentalists, we earthlings may be drowning in our own carbon-laced pollution, unless a better solution to or energy needs can be met. As a pessimistic Albertan, I suspect most of us will still be driving evil combustion engines in 2034; however, I am hopeful that there are some game changers in the energy horizon - maybe not Canadian - that may save the planet. Do you have any suggestions we can put on our watchlist? I'm waiting for 5i to beam me up !

I've only owned ENPH for about 6 to 8 months but have been somewhat disappointed in the results. What do think of the company at this time and is it worth holding or should one think of moving on?

As an alternative, I'm considering NXT. What would you think about the switch?

It is for the growth portion of my portfolio.
