Q: Hi,

We could very well be heading into stagflation, which I understand to be slowing or negative growth, high unemployment, weak demand and rising inflation.

In such a scenario, which would be the best stocks or ETFs to favour ?

Q: Perhaps am looking for unicorns. I have some money to deploy and I am looking for companies that have the balance sheet to ride out the current situation whether it lasts another two months or >12 months. My basic criteria were those potentially undervalued, dividend over 3%, div growth of at least 5% and a decent payout ratio. Any suggestions appreciated, thanks for your help.

Q: Within each of their sectors, CPX and GSY seem to have suffered larger drops than their peers.

Can you comment on why they each have been so negatively impacted and provide your thoughts on whether you think they should be continued to be owned or do you have other preferences in these sectors, if one's goal is income and some growth.

Q: Hi,

Thanks for all your great advice. I particularly enjoyed your recent piece called: "5 inane U.S. policy moves that are spooking investors."

My question is:

If Premier Ford follows through on his 25% tariff on energy exports from Ontario (especially electricity), or even halts those exports, how will that likely impact Hydro One’s stock? Today (March 4) it is up almost 2%.

Q: Hi Peter, I have 100 shares of BCE both in my RRSP and TFSA accounts both at a loss of course. I've been using it as income. Would it be wise to sell and buy back after a month my break even point is around 47.00 and 49.00. If you would replace what are some stocks that could replace BCE. Thanks

Q: In a portfolio where capital preservation and income are the goals there are 13 equities including 2 banks and one insurer. H is in a small loss position; it currently has yield of around 2.84%. Q: My current portfolio is heavily oriented towards growth and is very high risk. Over the next few to several months I plan on repositioning towards a more balanced approach. I will be looking to add some growing but steady large caps. Toward that end I have the following short list: TR, BN, GOOG, Canadian Banks, SLF, MSFT, NVDA, BEPC. Is there anything in that list that you would not see fitting into that category? Can you please add a half dozen or so of your preferred other names that fit with this idea. Please exclude defense contractors, the Oil and Gas sector and usurious money lenders.
