Q: Good morning. I watched your interview with Kornel Szejber from Build Wealth Canada. On it you discussed immunization which was most helpful. You also mentioned that you thought of CNR and CP as set it and forget it stocks. With that train of thought in mind which other canadian dividend stocks would you put in this same category? If I was to purchase 10 dividend stocks to take advantage of the dividend tax credit in my non registered acct which would be my main source of income which stocks should I consider.
Thanks
Victoria

Q: me, puzzled that Bell Canada and Hydro One continue to see stock price increases......like I understand there is a dividend tax credit for these two, if the stock is held in a non-registered account, and to a large degree, be able to pass on higher expenses to customers, and also that some folks want "safety".......but isn't this the catch - when interest rates return to a more normalize level, aka higher, the value of these two stocks should decline, right?!.......me, inclined to trim, aka take the gain, or sell outright!........what is your take on this???

In terms of stability, safety of dividends and overall company fundamentals (and thanks to the answer you provided to the Emera question as per Globe and Mail), would it be fair to rank from best to worse as follows: FTS, BEP.UN, H, AQN, and than EMA? Thanks very much.

Q: Peter,

Please provide your list of favorite utility stocks. Focus should be on debt levels able handle higher interest rates, a competitive yield and a history of regularly raising dividend payments.

Thank you

Q: I was planning on growing my position in these companies during 2022 in my TFSA account. Is there any of these companies you wouldn't invest in or replace for an other company (please indicate witch company you would replace it by).

Also can you say in what order you would rank these companies from highest to lowest, highest being you favourite and lowest least favourite?

Q: I am putting together a list of stocks to purchase in my TFSA for a 10 year hold. I am a very conservative investor and want income and some growth from my TFSA.
What companies would you add or delete from this list? Should I include a few US names?

Thank you.

Q: I'm in the process of rebuilding my portfolio for 2022. It would be helpful if you could share with me a list of both Canadian and American companies that meet the following criteria:
1. They are some of your favourite companies from a fundamental perspective
2. They are currently buying back their own shares.
3. They offer a decent dividend.
4. They run businesses that offer good growth prospects for next year.
5. They currently offer good value.
6. These companies are so solid they would classify as 'core ' holdings.
At least six companies in each list would be appreciated.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude for the support and ideas you have shared this past year. Definitely one of the best advisory services available to Canadians,

Q: Here is the current EV/EBITDA ratios for the following energy producers (lowest to highest): CPX (8.3), BEP.UN (9.3), NPI (11.6), FTS (13.0), H (14.0), AQN (16.5), BLX (17.4), INE (37.1). CPX seems to be a top contender for value, with lowest P/B too at 1.49. Considering all factors, please rank from best to worst, in terms of possible best total return over the next 10 years.
Thanks!
