Q: Hi 5i,

Your comments on recent quarter and year end results from Quanta Services (PWR) would be appreciated.

For a long term hold is this stock a buy, sell or hold?

Could you also provide other companies in this space that provide these kind of services to renewables? Do you see them as being any better than PWR?

Thanks!!

Q: Interested in a pick in US building materials as a play on infrastructure spend but equities like Martin Marietta, Vulcan Materials, Granite Construction and Quanta seem expensive. However Eagle Materials appears cheaper. Of these 5 are there two you would comfortably buy today with greatest growth potential. Secondly which two seem to you to be least risky. Finally is there another building material equity you would prefer more than any of these and if so what would be your reasoning for that pick. Thanks as always.

Q: Hi 5i Team - Could you provide an update on BWX Technologies, particularly in relation to its small nuclear reactors technology. Do you think that there will be a demand for this type of energy source and is BWXT the best positioned company to commercialize them, or are there better choices in this field. Also are there already small nuclear reactors been built or up and running.
Thank you

Q: Good morning; I am curious as to what, if anything, is behind the drop in share price of PWR over the past 3 weeks? I cannot see any news on sites I have access to, and am wondering if politics or analysts are having an impact behind the scene? It suffered a more extreme price decline back in September '23. Thanks very much!

Q: We know from recent reports of grid failures during extreme low and high temperatures that North American electrical infrastructure is inadequate to meet our rapidly growing requirements for electrification.

My questions are:
- will governments re-design, regulate and install new infrastructure in partnerships with private sector/s? (what could possibly go wrong?)
- what exactly constitutes the grid (the components)?
- what companies or types of companies will provide the designs and components for the transitions in Canada and the US?
- are there any obvious stock picks that 5i can recommend at this point?

I realize that this topic falls somewhat into speculation and opinion at this point. I am looking for best thoughts from 5i - not necessarily definitive answers. Maybe 5i would consider producing ongoing articles and references on grid revitalization as we move forward.

Thanks!
Heather

Q: hi folks:

1) what is your opinion of the long term viability of this company?

2) do you have any other companies in mind that would be competitors (direct or indirect)

3) are you familiar with other well run electrical/ component/ grid/ transmission companies that are leading in the drive towards the inevitable electrification of the world?

thanks

Q: An excerpt from Oaktree's quartley letters, concerning the US power grid, states:

The entire power grid needs to be updated and reimagined in many ways – some obvious and some that take more expertise to appreciate.

For example, substation equipment will need to be upgraded to handle renewable capacity additions. Tens of thousands of miles of overhead conductors will need to be replaced, and new lines will need to be built. And new distribution equipment, such as transformers, will need to be installed and serviced. In short, we believe investors should focus on the entire electric power value chain – from generation through consumption.

Could you please list some companies that you feel would benefit from the above changes.

Q: There will have to be a significant electrical buildout to facilitate a wide based conversion to EV. Everything from Power Production thru both new and upgraded Distribution to Charging Facilities and their components and other electrical elements I haven't thought of will benefit.
Who will be the biggest beneficiaries?
Will there be be clear winners in power production, presumably among renewable energy companies? What about their suppliers?
Will distribution equipment suppliers like GE and Siemens be rejuvenated? Who's best in class in their sector - one of them, Mitsubishi or?
In Electrical Distribution is there any clear leader or is it so decentralized that all the Fortis' and NEE's etc. benefit.
Will ATD.B and its competitors actually see growth in facilities and same store sales etc.
To what extent will energy storage be required and at what stage?

Thank you, Hugh
