Q: I am still somewhat confused about the ‘due bill’ trading status of BAM.A as described by the 5i team today. When exactly will BAM.A trade at a price reflecting the spinoff of BN? Geoff

Q: It appears Canada has the potential to take a part in the EV revolution, yesterdays announcemenmt from Volkswagon regarding a possible gigafactory here, and this from todays FP, "Canada has seen at least 10 major electric vehicle-related commitments totalling close to $16 billion since the start of 2021 as federal and provincial governments work to secure investments in the rapidly-evolving sector." For fun lets say all this and more happens, which Canadian companies will have the most to gain?

Q: Hi Guys
Can you explain why LTM Free cash flow shows Cash from Operations @ 551 million less Capital Expenditures 335.2 million equaling free cash flow of positive 216 million.
Why wouldn't it be : Cash from Op 551 million Less Cash from Investing -296.9 million, less cash from financing - 270.8 million for a negative free cash flow of about -15.8 million ?
Thanks Gord

Q: Do you think these ETF's are worthwhile investments in the Cdn. Bank area?
They both have high yields - are they sustainable
What is difference between the two? Which one is the preferred investment?
If neither are preferred - can you suggest an alternative?
Thanks

Q: Hello Peter,
Could you please comment on Tecsys results? The stock is in the dumps which is surprising as the company is in supply chain area which is a good place to be, and the results did not seem that bad. Does it compete with Kinaxis? Thanks very much

Q: Hi Peter,
Reading your National Post article this week titled 'potential read flags to watch for when picking next stock', I was interested in the first item 'short interest'. You mention that one should always check the short positions of companies wanting to purchase. So tell us please, what is the easiest and most efficient way to identify the short positions of a Canadian company? Thanks for your good advice!

Q: I'm pondering dipping my toe into ETFs. The reason for this is that I got the feeling from another 5iR response that given the current stock market turbulence, it is better to buy diversification via an ETF rather than buy new US or Canadian stocks positions or top up existing equity positions. What say you, 5iR? Like did I "read" that response right???......Tom
Q: Hi 5i,
What’s your perspective on the Energy sector going into 2023? I’ve had big wins on all 3x stocks, and am trying to decide whether to trim positions in the face of a potential global recession.
Thank you!
