Q: Hi. I'm looking at enhancing the defense portion of my portfolio and I'd like your thoughts on XAD. Or would I be better going with XAR or ITA?

XAD is a new ETF with an inception date on Sept. 6, 2023. Net assets are $3.11M, management fee is 0.39%, and 1-month total return at 8.77%. XAD currently tracks the performance of the Dow Jones U.S. Select Aerospace & Defense Index and is classified as medium-to-high risk. XAD has 33 holdings currently. Being such a new ETF, we would want to wait until it has more assets and a longer performance record. We would suggest going with XAR or ITA and leaning more towards ITA.
