Q: What are your thoughts on STC . Low pe and positive earnings forecast. Would you view it as a buy at this time or are there other companies in the sector that you would prefer such as State Farm? Thanks for the analysis.
Q: I'm interested in Hammond and would like your input. They both seem very inexpensive but HPS has a larger dividend (and a higher P/E).
Do you like either right now? Prefer one over the other?
Q: Softchoice went public today. It was priced at the high end $20. Closed at $20.30
I am thinking of taking a half position. Your thoughts please.
Thanks
Q: Why are renewable stocks (such as BEPC, AQN, INE, BLX, etc.) so weak of late? Thanks. With all governments promoting renewable energy these stocks should be doing much better.
Q: Hi,
I converted most of my cad to usd and have been doing investments in us companies and recently sold many of the tech due to the noise regarding interest rates. How can I preserve my usd cash from depreciation against cad without changing back to cad . I have seen a drop from 1.3 conversion to now at 1.2 and it seems the general view is that it may hit 1.
Q: Hello 5i Team
Using Nine Point Energy Fund as an example, when the company has three versions of a mutual fund (Series A, Series F and an ETF) how are the portfolios structured? Are the funds structured as three separate accounts (i.e. the portfolio manager purchases the same security in three separate accounts) or are the funds held in one common account (i.e. the portfolio manager purchases the a security in one account) and the returns/expenses calculated as proportional amounts?
Does either method have an impact on fees or the liquidity (using the example where the EFT version is smaller in value than the Series A or Series F) of the funds?
Thank you
Q: NVNXF Would like your thoughts on this company, they are looking to develope and supply lithium batteries for car and houses, they have an partnership with Emera to develope energy storage systems for community micro grids.

Q: Good Day,
My current gold holding is BTO. Given the unrest in Mali I am contemplating a switch to a 50/50 split between KL and GCM. Your thoughts on this would be welcome.
Q: Can't stop, won't stop. Like 5i, I like momentum.
Thanks for the recommendation a while back. I'm approaching a double and position size is still reasonable at 3.5%. Is a top up to ~4-5% reasonable given the momentum and outlook or do you think it remains a bit too risky to increase position size? Note that I stop buying a position at 5% and let them run to 7-10% before trimming, so topping up to 5% would put ECN as my third largest holding after CSU and GSY.
I've been looking at DNTL. It seems they have a similar model to WELL, DOC and DND, in that as it appears their growth will largely come from aquisitions. I would think the dental industry would be a relatively stable business so, to me, looks like an interesting addition to my TFSA. Beside debt (for aquisitions), what are the main risks here? Is it too early for dip your tow in here? What are your general thoughts on the company.
Q: Hi Team,
Any comments on Lendcare (GSY), announcing point of sale financing for auto repairs? This seems significant to me, but the stock is not moving today. I have never heard of auto repair POS financing where I am. Seems like this could be a big thing if it takes hold.
