Q: Hello 5I, I hold a almost full position with Norton Life may I have your comments on thier recent quarter, its seems going thru that they met all matrix except for GAAP reported earnings was a miss by 0.02, how important is GAAP to non-GAAP reporting numbers in situation of a security company.
Is it worth holding on to my position or trade it with other growth names, if so what would you recommend fro US stocks.

Q: 5i has stated in the past that the above companies have no debt (LNF "very little debt") - is that still the case? If possible, can you please name 5 additional good CAN and 5 US companies that have no debt or very little?
Thanks!

Q: Thanks 5i for your continued timely reports and advice.

I have run with CRM for the last four years and it is now 5% of my portfolio. I usually cap individual holdings at 5% and wonder if it is worth trimming it to add to use the funds to add to GOOG(2.0%) currently. Good to see google results last week and assume it will continue to grow. Which of the two do you see having the most upside in 3 - 5 years or should I dump (CGI 2.5%)to add to my google position. I recently started a position in ACN so I will have the service industry covered.

Feel free to subtract the necessary question allocation.

Kevin

Q: Portfolio Analytics suggests I need to increase my U.S. holdings and communication services allocations as it current says I have no comm. services. 2 part question to help address this gap in my portfolio (feel free to take 2 credits):
1) I currently hold TTD. Do you consider TTD a communication service? Your platform labels it as technology (software) whereas BMO Investorline labels it a comm. service.
2) Can you please provide me with your favorite 3-5 U.S. names in communication services (in order) that you would start a position in today. This would be bought in either my TFSA or RRSP. I am a younger investor that has 20+ years until retirement (defined benefits pension) so would be focusing on growth. A dividend is not a requirement.

I have scanned past answers to look for names you have mentioned recently (somen noted above) but there was never a focused question on just communication services.

Thanks for the fantastic service! I cannot understate how much I have learnt since becoming a member.

Q: I'm wondering if you have strong feelings about the prospects of any of these or similar mega cap tech stocks, in terms of their values against each other or others similar. I own most of these but on their own they are fairly small holdings. Could you please rank, and which would be worth trading up for the others? Also how many would you recommend holding?

Q: Question 1: Considering buying a few hundred shares of ADTX (NASDAQ). There seems to have been significant growth over the last year and since the company launched (2017), and I like the biotechnology space and don't have any positions here yet. Can anyone provide some insight for a beginner investor on this company? I have a 2-3 year timeline and am looking for growth, okay with some risk. Feel free to suggest some alternatives to ADTX if you have some.

Question 2: I'm interested in adding some clean / renewable energy stocks to my portfolio, specifically US companies but also open to Canadian. I've been watching AQN and BEP.UN, but perhaps I'm missing some interesting ones that will benefit from the US being back in the Paris Agreement (!!). What are your favourites in this space right now?

Question 3: I currently work in A.I., and I like NVDA as a clear leader in this space. Do you think their stock is over-priced currently? It's one of the most expensive stocks in the A.I. technology space and seems too high when compared to MSFT or other players. Can you rank your favourites in the A.I. space?

Thanks 5i Team, and happy new year to everyone!

Q: I have a CCP corp (10-year time line) with the following holdings (high to low mrt value + $60K cash): ENB, AQN, ATD, SU, BAM, GC, LSPD, XBC, REAL, GUD, BEPC, CAE, BNS, CSU, ENGH, SLF, PHO, XGD, WELL, GOOS, QST, AC, BEP.UN, KXS, DOC.VN, MITK, ATZ, SYZ, DOO. To reduce tax liabilities, I plan to slowly sell off any high yielding stocks (eg ENB) and only hold buy-and-forget stocks with very low or no dividend or buy corp class ETFs like HXT, HXS, HXQ. Can you please recommend what current stocks you see as long term "keepers" and suggest any new CAN or US stocks or ETFs. Many thanks for your help!!!!

Q: Thanks 5i Team - what an excellent service!! May I have your comments on my TFSA strategy and an ETF recommendation. My TFSA is almost fully funded and divided into 3 notional "buckets". Roughly 1/3 is comprised of growth securities, selected from the 5i Growth Portfolio, with my current positions being KXS, XBC, WELL and LSPD; Roughly 1/3 is comprised of about 10 Canadian "dividend growers", about half of which are among the 5i Balanced Equity or Income Portfolios such as ENB, EIF, PBH, BIP.UN and BEP.UN and the other half well known blue-chips like T, CNR, CNQ and RY; and the final 1/3 is a single, conservative diversified ETF, currently Vanguard Conservative Portfolio VCNS, which I refer to as the "anchor". I prefer to limit the total number of securities to no more than about 20 (I am a few short of that right now) so I can adequately manage things, and I add to VCNS while awaiting opportunities to purchase positions in the other securities I own, or to sell from if cash is needed so I can continue to hold the individual growth and dividend securities. I am looking for reasonable growth in my TFSA over a 5-10 year period, and I can tolerate some risk but prefer to avoid excessive volatility or risk. My questions are: (1) are these 3 roughly 1/3 buckets a sensible approach for reasonable growth over a 5-10 year horizon or would you recommend different weightings or approaches, (2) could you recommend 1 other diversified ETF that I might consider for the "anchor" portion, and (3) could you recommend 2-3 other securities for the growth portion, to add a bit more diversification. Thanks very much.

Q: Recently in response to questions, 5iR provided  target sector weightings for a dividend conservative portfolio and also for a balanced portfolio.
For my income portfolio, with a target sector weight of 10% for Communications, I have a position of 3.50% in BCE and, for health care, with a target sector weight of 10%, I have no positions. What are some Cdn and US stocks and ETF, even in Cdn dollars, would you suggest I consider.

When it comes to the balance portfolio, the communication target sector weight of 5%, I have at position of 3.00% in Telus and in the case of health care, with a target sector weighting of 10% (say in US stocks), I hold no positions. Again, what are some US stocks and ETF, even in Cdn dollars, would you suggest I consider.

Yes this is two questions in one...so please deduct two credits............Again, Thanks........Tom
