Q: Hello 5i:
We currently hold about 4% of our portfolio in CSU.DB; bought first about 3 years ago with subsequent additions. It's been a very good and stable performer (thanks for the tip as in addition to the excellent dividend, we also have capital gains). Can you provide another name, possibly A ranked company that would have a similar fixed income contribution? Or, should we merely increase our weighting in CSU.DB?
btw, we also hold CSU (the regular equity) at about 3% of our portfolio.

thanks
Paul L

Q: HI 5i, My TFSA account contains all this: CSU KXS PHO SIS, I'm looking may be for a new Stock. Considering COV or RHT, or any other (you think is better fit for me), of these two which one would you suggest for growth , some risk is ok.

Thanks

Q: Hi team,

I'm putting money towards my TFSA (10K) and was wondering what you think would be the best way to invest it. I was considering starting with 5 stocks: PBH, SIS, CSU, KXS, TOY. My second thought was choosing 2-3 of those stocks and adding in ETF's. Thirdly, I was thinking to invest investing fully into ETF's. I would say that I'm in between balanced and growth in terms of risk.

What are your thoughts? And if the ETF route, which would you recommend?

Thanks in advance,

Jon

Q: Hello Peter, Ryan and Team,

Which 5 management teams are currently the best capital allocators in your view. I am guessing CSU would be up there. Who else?

Thank you,

Wes

Q: My portfolio has gotten very International over the past several years and I was wondering if you could give me a number of non resource names that you would consider Canadian core holdings - stocks that everyone should own. I already own BAM.a, NTR, AQN, ATD.b, TRP, SHOP, BIP.un, DOL and CNR. Thank you

Q: Hi 5i,

I am so pleased with your service and of course, a rating system which directed me to invest in CSU.

The equity continues to rise to new all time highs. I am NOT complaining, but there must be some point at which it is overvalued and you would, I assume, reduce your rating. Or, could it move to 900, 1,300, 8,000, 1,000,000 on us. Not to be to far out with my question, but are there limits to growth with CSU ?

Q: My question is regarding someone with a substantial US portfolio who wants to invest in some Canadian companies. He is thinking of investing in a few Canadian growth Tech companies and a couple of blue chip ETF's. Can I please have your thoughts on this and some recommendations? Thank you.

Q: Hi 5i,
I have aprox. 20k in cash in my RRSP. I am trying to decide in what to invest it in. I am turning 37 years old this year. Should I be leaning towards a growth portfolio like I am doing with my TFSA?

What would be your top 5 stocks you would start your RRSP US or CDN with $20k cash?

I also have aprox $160k in a LIRA right now. How should i go about investing this money? Can you recomend me specific stocks or ETF's?

Thanks so much for your insight.

Q: I am hoping you may have some suggestions for dealing with this problem. One I might add your stellar advice has contributed to. Currently CSU is nudging over 10% of my portfolio and SHOP is edging over 6%. Clearly there is single company risk but were do I go to find similar excellent management and growth potential while reducing the risk.
Your assistance is as always very much appreciated.

Q: An update to my Nov 2016 comment. My now 7 year old's RESP CSU shares are comfortably 6 baggers (previously only 4 baggers in Nov 2016). Thanks again and looking forward to my first 10 bagger. Again thanks for the advice to not be afraid to buy a stock that has gone up in price. I've purchased CSU in a number of other accounts since and all are now up a minimum of 100%.

Q: Hi, we started investing in Constellation Software, 4-5 years ago and stock has done phenominally well. Over time, we have trimmed the position by half, but still it is about 10% of our portfolio. This company continues to please investors with consistent growth thro' strategic acquisitions and smartly integrating in its model. Acceco Solutions acquisition for $250 mln was quite impressive. I ( and most shareholders) have developed enormous respect for Mark Leonard, as we learn more and more about his capital allocation strategies and management style as. ( Not to mention his decision to cut his salary to Zero ).

I continue to believe that CSU is tremendous value even at current levels and there is temptation to add more shares to our portfolio (specially with last 2 days pullback).
There does not seem to be many similar investment opportunities in Technology sector in Canadian markets. Would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks
