Q: Two quick questions. GOOG currently make up 6.4% of my total portfolio. Given recent developments, I'm inclined to let it run. At one point would you start to rebalance?
I also hold HD in a registered account and am up >95%. In a recent response to a question, you expressed a strong preference for RH over HD. I note that HD has a beta just over 1, while RH is 2.37. RH's significantly higher beta gives me pause. Given that I am a medium risk-taker, would you suggest I swap HD for RH? Thank you.

Q: Could you explain the difference between GOOG and GOOGL or is there much of a difference. I assume the 20 for 1 stock split applies to both. Thanks.
Q: Hi Everyone at 5i!!! Any idea what date the stock split for Google shares will take place and would it be better to buy them before or after the split or would it matter??? Thank you for everything you do !!! Cheers, Tamara
Q: What would your best guess as to the price of Google after the 20-1 split? I have been reluctant to buy Google due to high price per share and am now interested, would it be best to buy now at fewer shares or wait until the split and buy more shares? Do you think now or post split?
Cheers, Doug

Q: I have some new money to invest in my TFSA. I am well diversified in my other accounts, and am now wondering what to add to my TFSA. I am a senior so I would say about a 5 year time frame that this would stay in the TFSA, maybe more.
Any suggestions you have would be helpful.
Thanks so much for your help in the past, it has always proved very lucrative.

Q: Hello 5i
I know that it is a good idea to either have a certain number of US stocks that are not represented in Canada, or an etf for the US market, in order to have a balanced portfolio. Fortunatly, or unfortunatly, I have both. And I am wondering whether I should either get rid of my stocks or get rid of my etf's. The above are the US stocks I hold. in pretty good percentages. If i were to hold only stocks what might you suggest to supplement these? I know that I am probably heavy in tech to really represent the US market and will probably have to trim here, maybe in percentages. any other suggestions appreciated. Most of these are held in tax sheltered accounts, so taxes shouldnt matter too much.
thanks as always

Q: I actually bought Square (Block) at 65.00 but it has dramatically dropped in price. My question is do it hold or sell and buy perhaps a more secure stock like Googlewhich had been dependable over the last 5 years for me. It may recover faster.

Q: Hello Peter,
I think of your investment style as growth oriented long-term investor. But at the same time, you have been a portfolio manager and adjusted portfolios to manage yearly returns as well. You have experienced and managed similar downturns as they go through corrections in a rising rate environment. I would appreciate your opinion on how to adjust the portfolio in the current environment.
With the US (and Canada) central bank expected to raise rates about 4 times, the dollar index should be strong? That should not be good for commodities, particularly for gold and silver. But then inflation is going to be high too. What does it mean for gold/silver stocks and how would you adjust the portfolio weight as of now; and the bias between large (AEM, FNV,PAAS) and small caps such as KRR, MMX and WDO.
And the growth stocks, in particular technology stocks- FAANNGS (including NVDA) and other very high valued stocks such as AFRM,UPST,CRWD, DOCU,ROKU,TTD etc. I feel they will rebound but not much. Would you hold them through to the year end or rotate into traditional financials, commodities, and cyclicals in the near term. If rotating, would you do it immediately? Would be grateful if you could include your suggestion for the individual stocks too.
Finally, the persistent downward drift of ATVI – am I missing something? Did we learn anything from the microsoft call yesterday?
I know this has multiple questions and you deduct credits accordingly. I am very interested in learning from you - how you would go about portfolio adjustments and beat the market come December 2022.
Regards
Rajiv
