Q: Is Merk unjustifiably cheap or is it a value trap? Which of MRK, JNJ, MDT (or other suggestion) would you recommend as a buy and forget cornerstone healthcare holding for someone looking for long term capital appreciation and dividend growth. My only other healthcare position is ABBV. Please also explain the rationale. Thank you!

Q: I am currently looking to rebalance my portfolio taking into account the latest volitilty. I am a long term investor and fairly well diversified. I do need to top up in a few places. Q: Good day, I’m thinking with the better exchange rate of late, it would be a good time to buy more US shares inside a tfsa. We are very diversified across all accounts. Looking for some ideas. What are some growth names you would buy today? Already own most big tech, but would have no problem adding to them. Thanks so much as always

Q: Hi Peter and Staff
If I am correct, I believe you were high on DXCM at one point and may not feel as high on it today? It had gone up nicely until recent earnings but downward spiral since then. Is it closer to a buy or a sell in a basket of health care stocks .
Secondly, assuming it might be deemed not as good as some or all of the following,, please rank the top 4 in order from
ABBV, CRRX, ISRG,MDT,SYK,VEEV and WELL

THanks for all you do
Dennis

Q: What three US and three Canadian Public companies would you recommend for growth and management abilities/performance when looking at a 10 to 15 year horizon. (In order of your preference)

Thank you for the incredible value your investing insight has given me over the years!

Q: Good Morning 5i Team,

In your response to a recent question asked about your thoughts on Buffet and Lee-Chin's cash hordes and how much cash to hold in the current environment, part of your response was "Investors are not used to rising rates, and we think some protection is needed. Not necessary in terms of cash but in terms of some portfolio adjustments to companies less susceptible to higher rates (i.e. value stocks over expensive growth stocks). Growth stocks can still do well in a rising economy, but companies with valuations at 15 to 20X sales would see an adjustment with higher rates (of course this has already partially occurred this year). "

I am in the camp needing to make some adjustments, and I'm wondering if you could suggest several U.S. and Canadian stocks that you see as attractive "value" plays at this time.

Thanks very much,
Brad

Q: I just sold a US stock that represents about 5% of my RIF and about 23% of my US holdings in the RIF. Income is obviously OK but some growth would also be welcome. Do you have any suggestions.
Thanks for the great work!

Q: ABBV is mentioned and recommended frequently in the 5I questions. I have heard that Humira is its strongest asset; is that the case? A BNN guest the other day referred to Humira coming off patent in 2023; does this affect its long term prospects? The company has a very healthy dividend, especially for a US entity; is this sustainable in the long term? Any other comments about ABBV? Thank you for your excellent service.

Q: Hi! I am using the Balanced Equity portfolio however as a complete portfolio it falls short in that there are no Us/Global stocks. There are area s the Canadian market doesn’t represent well. If you were to complement the Balanced Equity portfolio with 6-8 US/Global names, what stocks would complete the portfolio?

Q: This is my margin portfolio, all position weightings are between 3%-5%.

The projected yield is 3.31% with a 3-5 year hold.

I realize 24 positions is a bit overkill but I can't seem to choose which to remove, which would you recommend?

What positions would you add to the portfolio?

Take as many credits as needed.

Thanks for the great service
