Q: I own the following in my US-denominated TFSA:

ADBE, DAL, FIVE, PYPL, PAYC, TOL, SLQT, GOOG, AL

The goal of this account is high-conviction, long-term growth strategy, focused on eight US equities, with a risk profile somewhere in between that of your Balanced and Growth portfolios.

A) If I had to sell one of the 9 holdings listed, which should it be?

B) Are there any others that should be sold in light of the investment goal stated?

C) Which of these should I add to, if any, or, which new postition should I consider (US market only) that would complement the existing positions well? Please note that I am already fully-weighted/over-weighted in FIVE, GOOG, PYPL, and PAYC.

Thank you. Please deduct the appropriate number of credits as needed.

Q: Would you be able to provide a grading for the following stocks as you currently have for CND companies in the Report section? Would appreciate your thoughts, +A through E for the selected companies.

Any chance you’ll be adding US companies to the Reports one day?

Thanks

Q: Retired I am a growth inclined investor. I have AAPL and PYPL in my taxable account for over a year and have bought and sold AAPL twice in the past 5 years. AAPL has been very good to me. The current evaluation I find is expensive. There would be a tax impact but I have no other choice but to sell either PYPL or AAPL to make room for APPS. Would you make the switch or not and if so, which security would you sell?

Thank you for your very helpful service.

Q: People who are very close to the market having connections that I don't have. Here are examples: PINS - in May it was $50 and up until recently it was up as high as $82, then it started selling off and eventually quickly plummeted below $60. AMAZON - this was not doing much most of the year by July it was at $3760, a short time latter it was $3300. PINS started selling off fairly rapidly once it hit the low $80's. I think some people knew that the writing was on the wall for this stock. In the case of Amazon, since it wasn't doing much anyway - it sold off rapidly over a short period of time down to $3300 - again I have the same feeling as I have with PINS. PAY PAL had a massive sell-off and ROKU in July at one time in July was $490 plus and now it is down over $100 and seems to continue to fall I wish I had got out when it reached the $500 value. Would you say these lucky people who got out at the high price are well sophisticated traders or have a lot of connections? Your opinion. Thank you.

Q: With recent earnings releases for the above companies completed did anything specifically surprise you or excite you about their futures more so then before? Specifically Microsoft PayPal visa and Facebook.

For Google, it’s revenue growth was massive (68%) for a company it’s size and YouTube contributing almost the same revenue this quarter as Netflix was crazy to me. With ads growth via search not going away and cloud being a big focus for them I don’t see many things stopping it…
What do you see as the biggest risk for it specifically other then the big scary Antitrust breakup?

Q: Hello,
What are your thoughts on Nvei as a long term hold and what are the estimates on its next earnings, and would you know the date of the release? Is Square and Paypal its closest competitors? Any idea why Cielo Waste Solutions is dropping? Do you think it is due to management change? Thanks very much.

Q: Could you please rank SQ, NVEI, PYPL and V for a growth investor with moderate risk tolerance and a time-frame of at least 5 years. Please add other suggestions that fits the theme. LSPD is already owned. The reasons for your top two choices would be appreciated. Thanks.

Q: Good Morning 5i Team,

I'm trying to pair down the number of growth stocks I own. From this list, which two would you have the most confidence in for growth potential over the next three years and which two the least. Thanks very much.

Q: Relative to payment methods for the purchase of goods, bank sponsored debit and credit cards employ intermediaries such as VISA or Master Card.
This appears to be increasingly disrupted by tech companies that are not financial companies themselves, however I understand, have a bank in the background.
My question is: If I own VISA should I also consider owning PAYPAL or other to take advantage of the tech side of things thus giving my self a barbell approach? This is not a question on VISA or PAYPAL but on the benefits of investing in the new entities that seem to be appearing in the financial payment system.
Thanks

Q: Hi,

My question is of the companies I've listed, which 2 or 3 would you add to for a 5-10 year horizon. I currently own all of these, with no total value exceeding $500.

I am just starting a small portfolio and have $1000 USD to put into my RRSP to add to these exisiting stocks.

How would you rank them?

Thanks!

Q: Friday messy fun question, please take it lightly. I would like to start reducing the oil companies I bought in April last year. They've done incredibly well, but now I would like to increase my tech growth stocks by opening 1 or 2 new positions. I currently own GOOG, DND, U, CRWD, RDFN, ROKU, VEEV, PINS, and SQ. They have done well under your recommendations even with the recent pullbacks. As no one can time the markets, I am not willing to wait for a surprise interest hike as it is part of a locked-in RSP. It would be a 10+ hold. 1) Without considering size, could you please rank your favourite top 5 companies addressed in this question as of today in terms of strong balance sheet & steady growth potential over time (even in an interest hike environment). 2) Could you please give a brief explanation for the #1 pick only. Thank you very much as always!
