Q: "Hello 5i team,

As we approach election season and Q4, the markets look to be taking a bit of a downturn that is reminiscent of earlier this year in Feb/Mar.

What are your thoughts on what's ahead for Q4 in terms of buying? Are there any industries and/or names that you would suggest to focus on?

Specifically, I am considering AAPL, MA, SHOP, SQ and AMZN on the current correction, given the upcoming holiday and gift buying season is likely to have a lot of ecommerce action and new apple toys, with payment processing being a natural fit.

If you could suggest your views on which industries and names have typical strength Q4 that would be appreciated.

Q: With the purchase of Arms is NVDA a good stock to keep holding?? Do you see any downside. Does the purchase put it in the high debt bracket or is it very beneficial to NVDA in which case it doesn't matter that much.

Q: Good afternoon,

The technology portion of my portfolio has grown too large (about 37%) and I’m trying to figure out how to get it back to about 25%? My issue is that I’m interested in too many tech options (I.e., the ones that I own plus others I’d like to buy). I’m looking for suggestions on which I should sell, add to or replace by buying a better option. Some were initiated with half positions that went down and some full positions grew so the proportions all over the place. I have a long time horizon and many are held in a registered account (except SHOP and NVDA). I own: KXS (3.5%), CSU (3.8%), SHOP (2.7%), PHO (<1%), ZS (3.3%), TEAM (1%), NVDA (6.1%), AAPL (11%), MSFT (4.6%) and I’m interested in buying REAL, DOCU and GOOG. I’d like to own what are viewed as solid tech companies for future innovation and growth and I’m willing to add, remove or replace any of these companies.

I also need to add materials and REITs to my portfolio since I currently have no holdings in these. I’ll use my tech trimmings to add to these sectors. Suggestions of top companies for these two sectors would also be greatly appreciated.

Q: This question is about diversification and percentage of stocks vs ETFs. In my overall portfolio (combined tfsa, rrsp, and non-registered), I have roughly 37% VFV/ZSP, and the rest fairly equally weighted across ENB, KXS, SHOP, VGH, AQN, BEP.UN/C, BIP.UN/C, BNS, CPX, GDI, NVDA, RY, TEAM, VGG, TRP, BAM.A. I'm in my mid 30s and have a long time frame, but would prefer to position for short term performance as much as possible. So, with some cash to allocate, can you please recommend a couple US and CAN stocks to add to this mix (or recommend just adding to what I hold)? Also, given your recent market update on covid vs sector performance, what would you do with the VFV/ZSP allocation? I am open to moving that allocation to stocks instead of an ETF, and am wondering if I should take that path, and how best to position there given the big tech names/top holdings in the ETFs, vs some holdings across sectors that are currently down. Q: What would be your top picks today as a growth 3-5 plus years.
I have done well and held back 30% in cash after adding In a fair bit with the top picks you mentioned in the March /April special report (thank you )and I feel comfortable to add another 15 % To 20 % in.

Q: I have a very overweight position in Bam.a .I would like to diversity into other Canadian or US names as I think think near term for Brookfield will be at least challenged given their real estate exposure and the sentiment around that.What are a few of my the highest conviction US names you would favour?

Q: Somewhere in my past I read an article that proposed the idea that an investor should develop a list of 10 companies that are so well managed and poised for long-term growth that they could become a 'hold forever' portfolio. I guess you could call them the 'best of the best companies'. I'm 75 years old which seriously limits the amount of time for my investments to grow, so I have begun to think of my investments as ones that my children would benefit from inheriting.
Keeping all this in mind, I would greatly appreciate it if you would provide me with what you consider to be the absolute best 5 Canadian companies to buy AND although I realize you don't deal directly with American companies, the best 5 American companies to include in the portfolio.

Q: Hi 5i Team!
Based on your opinion back in Feb 2020, I have included growth names like KXS, REAL, DOO, QST, GSY and LSPD in my TFSA. Although these stocks were added prior Pandemic, all of them recovered except QST and I made over 5-7% already. Thanks for your valuable advise.
While in RRSP, I have ACB, CAE and LNR at 5% position, ENB at 20% position and CNQ over 60% position. I am down ~35% on average on these stocks. Is the correct thing to do is sell and balance out my RRSP portfolio or should I be waiting for recovery period for these down stocks. I would appreciate your counsel on this. I have ~25K room left on RRSP. Can you give me 5 names that you feel are good to have for next 3-5 years in. What companies would you suggest are the best positioned to take advantage of projected growth both US and Canadian.

Q: Hi guys, what a day for Roku. Thanks for recommending that one. I currently hold roku, square, nvda, and docu. I was contemplating taking profits on a few of those winners and moving into other USA growth stocks. Can you give me your top pics at this time? I have a long term timeframe in mind.
