Q: In the company data for PKI the earnings estimate is $1.52 which is a negative 22% growth over 2019, is this correct?
For FSV the estimate is $2.38 which is negative 3.6% over the previous year?
And for ATD.B there are no estimates, do have any estimates for next year?
Your assistance as always is greatly appreciated.
Mike

Q: For non-Canada exposure I use ETFs (VFV, HXS, XQQ) along with Canadian companies that have significant international exposure. In 2016 you wrote an article on this topic and recommended ATD.B, CCL.B, WSP AND XTC. I particularly liked that you provided a table outlining the countries where the 4 companies were invested. Do you have further information on this topic?

Q: Hello 5I
My holdings include, with total portfolio weights::
ATD.B (4.65%); BYD.UN (5.65%); CP (3.65); CSU (3.50%); GSY (4.6%); WSP (4.20%); ZEM (4.5%)

I have concern about a possible recession and economic slow down, and I would like to structure the equities in my portfolio with a bit more of a conservative and defensive tilt.

I otherwise would want to keep these positions but do you see any of these 7 being less conservative and defensive? With my objective in mind, should any be reduced or eliminated?

thanks for your excellent service.

Q: I have 5 grandchildren between the ages of 0 and 11. I'd like to buy 5 stocks in my TFSA to leave alone until they are adults. Of course, I will monitor the stocks the same as I do for my other stocks, but the idea is that I would not sell unless there is a big fundamental change, and consider them a small independent portfolio. As the children come of age, the idea would be to sell a little of each I'm thinking SHOP might be an option for one holding. Can you suggest 5 stocks that would be suitable?

Q: Hello,

The family RESP is composed of 15% VGG and 15% XQQ with the balance spread roughly evenly over the remaining stocks listed above. I would appreciate your suggestion for an additional position. The oldest child is 8 years away from post secondary.

Thank-you.

Q: Hello 5i,

I currently hold these stocks in an unregistered account. I have journaled over the five companies into a US account for the dividend. I would like to add possibly two more companies that pay their dividend in US funds. I have the rest of the balanced fund and some growth in my TFSA. Any suggestions to add here, and if it results in duplication, what would you remove from the list. I am well balanced and would likely have to sell at least one current stock and could just add the other if you can give me two. Was looking at Nutrien or AQN. Didn’t pull the trigger on AQN last year at 12.5.

Thanks for the assist.

Q: Could you please tell me how the fundamentals are calculated in divided class share structured companies? Could the answer could include A,B,Preferred shares? How would rules apply to Market cap/ P/Eratios, or anything else? Would it be total market cap of both a and b shares or per class when I view them on a company profile? Is every company required to report this the same way? How about general calculations of the company. What is the best method for me to look at when I wish to do research on a company. I use ATD.A,B as an example but any example you wish will be fine.
Thank you
Jeremy
