Q: Assuming a deflationary scenario and a continuing low interest rate environment for the next 18-24 months or so, what are your top five sectors and the top three picks within those sectors.
Many thanks for your most helpful advice.

Q: ENERGY:
I sold most of my energy holdings a while ago, the last one being SU: Suncor just before the price of oil started to increase.
I now only hold ENB: Enbridge at 2.4% of overall RRIF portfolios.
Is it a bit too late to think about increasing my holdings in this sector?
I'm a buy and hold investor and rarely seem to act in time to take advantage of sectors coming in to and going out of favour. Maybe you could consider giving we laggards a heads up when you start to notice that this "in and out of favour" starts to happen?
Thanks for your ideas.

Q: Hi team,
What would it take for SU to restore the dividend pre covid?
Also, with all that money 'saved' from the dividend cut, you think they are buying back shared, paying down debt, looking for an acquisition, all of the above?
Thank you

Q: I have heard we can expect to pay more to fill up at the pumps. Are you more bullish on oil or gasoline? If you are more bullish on gas oriented companies, what companies would you recommend?
Q: How can you explain the poor performance of Suncor with oil price near 70$, seems that Stock is disconnected from ressource price.

Athabasca Oil Corporation (ATH $9.77)
-
Tamarack Valley Energy Ltd. (TVE $11.04)
Q: I am looking to increase my energy exposure, and I am debating between a more senior producer, such as Suncor, or looking for greater torque to oil prices, such as Tamarack or Athabasca. I was wondering about your thoughts on the matter, including whether you feel that energy producers have more runway, or if the energy sector has reached something closer to full value. This would be a smaller position, no more than 2% of portfolio, so I can afford to take on some risk for the opportunity for growth. Thanks again, and I look forward to reading your thoughts.
Q: Hi, why has Suncor been a laggard in oil & Gas sector?
Thx

Do you think there is more upside in the O & G stocks. If so what would you suggest?
Also the same goes for basic materials. I am not interested in gold. What would be your picks for basic materials.
Thanks for your service, I would be lost without it.

Q: Looking at adding to my TFSA portfolio (junior investor - not playing with a ton of cash). I’ve had my eye on WELL for a few months and I’m looking to get in because of your recommendations. What would you say is a good price to buy at?
Also, could you rank ENB, ARX.TO, and SU.TO? Looking at enbridge alternatives, but maybe ENB is the best best way to go?
Would you prefer SHOP or LSPD.TO?
Out of all the above companies (WELL, SHOP, SU, ARX, LSPD, ENB), what order would you buy in?
Comfortable with a bit of risk.
Thanks for all you do!

Q: Dear 5i,
Here are the stocks I have left to purchase from your Balanced portfolio, can you please place these in order or how attractive they are at this time for a long-term hold? Also, is QQQ a good starting point for US focus holding in a registered account? Thank you.

Gibson Energy Inc. (GEI $30.03)
Q: Good Morning 5i,
I would appreciate knowing your outlook for Gibson Energy (GEI). In the past couple of months there was an article in the Globe & Mail that there could be more to come on the M&A front. It listed several companies that could be up for sale and GEI was one. The article said that GEI management was looking out to improve shareholder value and company sale (not just assets) wasn't out of the question. Since then GEI has become the first energy company in North America to link it's credit facility to meeting sustainability objectives. The stock has not performed as well as other energy stocks during this time and I have continued to hold it for the potential takeover aspect. Do you consider a take over is possible and if so, what companies do you consider would be potential candidates to takeover GEI? Thanks

Q: Hello, given the current US$ exchange rate and the loses still incurred on a handful of CDN stocks, I'd like to hear your thoughts on selling the decent dividend but significant double digit % loses to acquire more US$ and move it into GOOG & FB. Alternatively I have considered adding to VFV or starting a position in VGRO and leave it as CDN$. I am ~25% in USD of which I plan to use so I am not concerned with adding a few more points of USD. Thank you for your opinion.
