Q: My virtual 'conservative growth' portfolio has the above 10 stocks in equal wights. What two stocks would you add to round it out please? Please assume that I have 45% outside of this portfolio in fixed income. Are 12 stocks enough in your view? I know there are many factors but please answer the best that you can ... maybe assume it is you.
Q: Please give me your thoughts on ROKU, and whether you see this current price as a buying opportunity, or simply too banged up? Do you feel the price could return back to it’s all time high numbers ?
Also, I currently hold TT, and was wondering which other growth industrial US stock would be a good addition for an RSP? Top 3 picks in order please
Q: Good evening team,
I understand this answer may have been asked but I'm unable to locate your answer. If one was concerned about inflation what would be your sectors of choice to invest in? Additionally, can you kindly mention 5 stocks in both CDN and the US that may potentially help guard against inflation?
Q: It seems to me that going forward inflation worries are real. Assuming my thesis is correct, I have read that one way for investors to protect their portfolios is to buy companies with "pricing power". What exactly is pricing power and can you give me a list of Canadian and American companies that currently have the most pricing power.
Q: I have about $100K to invest in the US stock market to bring my portfolio closer to my intended US weighting, and I am looking for some US stock/ETF ideas.
My portfolio is already 25% Technology, and 16.5% Financials. So I don't need suggestions from those sectors. I was considering more VFV, but that has 25% Technology in it already, so maybe an ETF to complement that.
Can you suggest some US stocks that are not in the Technology or Financial sector that you would consider for a US style model portfolio. And also some ETFs holding US stocks that are light in Technology and Financials.
Q: If inflation is going to be a concern, do you have 5 company suggestions in the US and Canada that would have pricing and so earnings power? Thank you
Q: Making some adjustments based on portfolio analytics.
Whats your best growth suggestions for:
Health care (us/ international)
Industrial (us/ international)
Consumer defensive (us/ international)
Consumer cyclical (us/ international)
And what is your favorite way to add a fixed income component?
Take appropriate credits as nessacary.
Thx for the great service.
I use the US side of my portfolio mainly for growth opposed to CDN for income and some growth. Thinking of a switch from docu to affirm looks like good money to be made in this one. Can you give a comparison between the 2 and do you think affirm is a better investment now?
I've hit the highest ever by far in my portfolio this year akin to your father in law thanks in very large part to your recommendations.
From a very grateful many years standing customer!
Q: Considering the possible effects of shipping disruptions and the abilities of consumer companies to maintain inventories and hence profit margins, cyclical and discretionary, would your top three stocks to have in one's portfolio long term, in your professional and respected opinion, be altered.
What would be the top three suggested holdings for long term(5 years)
Thank you
Q: I currently own these companies. I have some US cash to add to my TFSA and would like your recommendation on 5 additional best of breed companies. Or would you increase number of shares in the companies I already own.
Q: We are often reminded that one should not try to time the market, and that it is time in the market that counts. But would you be in favour of an investor re-weighting to more defensive positions if one is worried there is a "correction" on the horizon, for example if the Delta variant explodes Covid numbers, there is a gov't policy or interest rate change, an external shock with China, etc, ? If one was going to make that change, can you pls provide 10 names that currently would be more defensive? Thank you for your very excellent service.
